This is probably the best urban park in Orillia. The paved trail. The baseball fields. The rowing club. Barnfield Point Arena/Curling Club. The beach. The lake. There are natural areas, and there are 'groomed' areas. All in all, a very nice park to visit. They have held the Mariposa Folk Festival on these very grounds, amoungst other events as well.... I attended the unveiling of the 'Golden Leaves' sculpture dedicated to Orillia native Gordon Lightfoot, by Timothy P. Schmalz, on October 23rd, 2015. A separate sculpture was unveiled for 'The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald' at the same time. Since then another individual sculpture has been unveiled for 'Black Day In July'. They are beautifully located out on the point,... More

Don't worry about the snowfall. The pathways are cleared by city staff members. This is a great place to go on a Sunny winter afternoon. It's a popular place for walkers to enjoy the beautiful waterfront even if it is a frozen block of ice. Going regularly and watching the transition to winter is spectacularly beautiful.

Great park for snowshoeing, when the lake is frozen you can venture off the paths onto to the ice. Beautiful on a winter day. There is an amazing statue of Gordon Lightfoot, a native of Orillia located in the park. In summer there is a beach with lifeguards and a cute splash pad for kids. The area bike trail also... More

This is a fantastic park within the City of Orillia boundaries that has a complete host of facilities to enjoy. From the beach/swim area with change rooms and washrooms, a wet park for children to play in, ball diamonds, beach volleyball courts,to a paved walking trail, incredible water vistas to be enjoyed from several well positioned park benches and picnic... Nice city park on Lake Couchiching with a decent sized beach. Very clean sand and water. Playground. Kayak rentals in summer. Overpriced ice cream hut. Walking trail to the point is scenic- used to be a campground years ago. Softball diamonds. Free parking- Adjacent to Hwy 12. Very crowded on summer weekends.

Great place to stop for a swim , have lunch , walk or take the dog on the trail that runs adjacent. Ice cream stand in summer and a kiddie play area make this a lovely stop or destination. Located on Hwy 12 south just before the "Narrows".

It took me a couple years to finally take a walk in this park, and what a treat! There are many free parking spots, and a big beautiful park to enjoy nature in, with water views on all sides. If your a Gordon Lightfoot fan, you will find a nice memorial to his achievements here. I can see there is... More
