We took this 65-minute crossing from Riviere-du-Loup to Saint-Simeon in order to approach Quebec City through the more scenic north side of the Saint Laurent. Beautiful views and whales--many pilot whales and even a beluga. Worth it. Lots of pedestrian travelers.

Although the highway (#20) from Riviere du Loup to Quebec City is faster on the south side, it is rather boring compared to the great vistas you will discover if you take the ferry and travel the 138 to Quebec. For a little over $80 CAN, the ferry will cover a car and two passengers. The crossing is relaxing and... More

Was enjoying the great view of the river by walking on the ferry dock and watching the waves hitting the shore.

We rode this ferry one way, from Saint-Simeon to Riviere-du-Loup. We chose it because we preferred not to take one further east that would have been a 2-1/2 hr ride. We arrived just in time for a scheduled crossing and barely waited at all to be loaded. The trip was expected to take 65 minutes - we arrived a little... More

It was a perfect day to be on the water and siting on the upper deck in the sunshine made for a great morning. The ferry was very clean and the staff was professional.

This is a terrific ferry service, but is, of course, subject to the vagaries of weather. The ride can be smooth or rough or if it gets really severe, the passage can be cancelled. Don't blame the ferry service; stay aware. Our recent crossing was the most placid I can remember; the Saint Lawrence was like a mill pond under... More

They had this ferry amazingly well organized. You get a paper from a person as you pull into a lane for boarding. You must take this paper with you when you exit your vehicle and pay when you get on the ferry. It's quite exciting and sometimes the passengers have to get out of the car before it reaches it's... We were hoping to see whales, but no luck - still it was fun. The bad weather that had haunted us the past few days finally left as we made our crossing. The views of the clouds overhanging the mountains were spectacular. Although this is a French-speaking area, there were people who were able to direct us in English, so... More

Shortest passage to Tadoussac from south. Comes with some waiting time but still shortest connection. Was with all ferries, reserve some time.
