It was nice to be able to access a full sized computer within the town. There is a great selection of books and programmes along with friendly service. Not only is it a beautiful, historical building, it feels quite spacious and bright inside.

The historic Fernie Library is a joy to visit. The tall windows frame the mountain view while you sit and read on the couch with your child. Excellent free childrens programming, always something new happening for them. If you get the chance go to the Gala fundraising event where you can dine in style inside the library!

The library is just off the downtown 2nd Ave and easy to find. It's not huge, but has enough for a town this size. It's also a historic building once being the town police station. It's architecturally pretty interesting if you're into that sort of thing.

The library is on three floors -- a kids area and washrooms and meeting rooms in the basement, main desk and some books on the ground floor, and on 2 most of the shelves, work tables, reference room, and more. Features -- lots of comfy seating, free wi-fi, plenty of light for reading, a lift if you don't feel like... More

This library shows everything that is good about small town libraries. Great community atmosphere. Lots of activities, and a very carefully and well chosen collection. A real pleasure.

In a day and age where we rely heavily on the internet for research, etc. it is nice to have a facility such as the Fernie Library to offset our computer craziness. The library is always renewing their inventory and keeping relevant. The library is also keeping current by offering all sorts of sessions and programs with authors and child/teenager... More

In a day and age where people have a tendency to check out their iPad or go to a big box store for good reads this is a great alternative. There are ample children's selections, tons of research books and a good selection of every genre for adults. In addition, the staff are very generous with their time and will... More
