We had guided tour plus self guided. Was like a Native American museum except for Canada. Wasn’t impressed.

The information provided is very interesting, but it would be nice if they updated their film - it is very disappointing for such an important subject. Mary March (Demasduit) was one of the last Beothuk - indigenous people who lived in Newfoundland from about 1500...More

Probably takes about 60 -90 minutes to look around. Lots to read. I was disappointed - expected more variety.

Located a block off the TCHighway, this museum provided a welcome break when we drove between Corner Brook and Gander. It is a small museum in a modern looking building that has 2 display rooms - one for temporary exhibits - this year a history...More

Covers the geology and history of Newfoundland. Clear and concise and fascinating. It isn't a big museum but it is well worth the time if you want to understand Newfoundland.

We only paid $5 to get in ( kids are free, 2 adults), it's a small museum that does a brief overview of nfld geology, wildlife, 5 indigenous tribes of the area etc. It was okay. Not a must see, but a decent way to...More

Our tour group arrived just as a staff member was closing the doors for the day and she kindly reopened the museum for us. The display and graphics are very well done, informative and presently nicely. The special room celebrating the 100th anniversary of the...More

Pros: Very interesting signs about Newfoundland's geological and cultural history, right up to their becoming a province. Also showcased reproductions of First Nations' cultural items, with descriptions of what the items were and what they were or might have been used for. Museum staff was...More

The Mary March Museum was recommended in a book on Newfoundland we had purchased prior to our trip. The museum is tucked away on a side street in Grand Falls and is small, cozy and not too overbearing as some museums tend to be. There...More
