Been here in the summer, winter, and fall. The museum is not open in winter but you can walk around and see the buildings and the lake. The roof on the lighthouse was redone last year and looks great. Love what our dues to the Keweenaw Historical Society do!

Pretty little summer village on lovely bay. Picnic on the shore! Going north out f town is a secondary, paved road following the west coast of the Keeweenaw Peninsula to Copper Harbor. Well worth driving. Extremely scenic.

We were there on October 11, 2016. Could still walk around the grounds and get good views. No sandy beach. Lots of rocky area in the water that the waves of Lake Superior hit. Nice viewing area for Lake pictures.

This lighthouse with museum is a must see for those visiting the Keweenaw peninsula in Michigan. Apart from the views of Lake Superior and the photo opportunities, the lighthouse and lighthouse residence are worth the visit. If one is interested in the history of the area and of the Great Lakes, the displays, photographs and explanations are a font of... More

We are traveling the surrounding area and stopping at Lighthouses along the way. Several buildings available to tour on your own for a small fee. The lighthouse which includes the keepers quarters is filled with pictures and the history of many of the keepers who ran the lighthouse since it was built in late 1800's. They even a 1926 Chrysler... More

Very interesting buildings. The museum held tons of records and artifacts from years past. The lighthouse keepers' home was furnished in period furnishings. This gave a good look into living in the early 1900's. A guide was very knowledgable and interesting to hear. You can spend as much time as you want wandering around the buildings and grounds. Views of... More

A great stop for a bit of history. You can tell the site is lovingly cared for by those who volunteer and support this still functioning lighthouse. They have a lovely collection of historical items and stories from this location and area. Shipwrecks, information on the lighthousekeepers and more. The gentleman at the front was awesome, telling us where to... More
