Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I have walked this park since 1976 with and without a dog. The saddest thing about the original area is the lack of enforcement regarding off leash dogs. Metro Vancouver has created a really large off leash area but apparently this isn't sufficient for many of the ignorant dog walkers who seem to think it's fine for their off leash dogs to walk in the on leash area making it unpleasant for those afraid of dogs or those with their dog on leash. Calling out " my dog is friendly " when our daughters dog isn't, just doesn't work for us and there is apparently no enforcement. So - we now rarely visit which is sad because it is a beautiful park that we've enjoyed from before the time our children were born, during their growing up years and into adulthood - but clearly times and responsibilities have changed. Wake up Metro Vancouver and do something about this.

Great place to walk through the forest & explore the trees & streams. Also a great off leash dog area surrounded by fences! Lastly love the Fish Hatchery & being able to participate in the release of the frys into the stream in May.

It is always a pleasure to take a leisurely walk in the early evening . It pathways are well covered with trees so you are safe from the sun and enjoy the cold breeze.
There are many walking tracks , one can choose depending on the distance you would like to walk , there quite stream that flows in the park , it is very relaxing sitting and hearing the water flow.

The park is absolutely lovely. The trees are very majestic and provide lots of cover. All trails are well kept and there are several routes to choose from depending on how long of a walk you are wanting to do. We did see a coyote resting in one of the meadows, but he was just interested enough to raise his head to check us out then go back to sleep. Would recommend that dogs be kept on a leash.
Couple of nice picnic areas, great park to visit!

We live about a 5 min walk from Tynehead Park. We take our dog to the off leash dog park. It's the best one we have been to since moving to the lower mainland in October. The dog park has a trail that loops around several fields. There are dog bags and cans along the trail. The majority of dog owners clean up after their dogs but it's disheartening to see how many don't! There is also a paved 5k loop that is great for walking, running, cycling, family walks. There are several trails that also go around the area. It's a great park for everyone to get out and move!

We pikced this out of our book, 109 Walks in The Lower Mainland and were happy to have tried this park. We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The park offers a really nice picnic area, a hatchery, a dog off-leash area and many kilometres of trails. The trails are easy walking and are accessible to strollers and the like.
We did the extended Serpintine Loop trail and enjoyed it. It was about 5 kms (it took us just over an hour and we were taking our time). Next we will do the Perimeter Trail. It is also about 5kms and we look forward to it.
If you want a short walk or just want to use the amennities or see the hatchery, you do not have to walk far if you don't want to. There are several access points and many different trails. We recommend that you print a park and trail map of the park from their website just in case they do not have one of the park maps available at the sign-board.
IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL, PLEASE GIVE US A HELPFUL VOTE. WE LIKE HELPING OTHER TRIP ADVISOR USERS. :)

My husband and I love finding parks with good trails and at least a geocache or two to find--Tynehead fits the bill perfectly. On a cool morning it's nice to walk the perimeter trail and then pick up a hot coffee at the Tim Hortons inside the Esso station. I'm so grateful that as Surrey has grown parks like these remain.
