Description:

The only waterwheel-operated Grist Mill in Western Canada....

The only waterwheel-operated Grist Mill in Western Canada. "Grist" is clean grain ready to be milled into flour. We are open from 10am to 4pm daily until Thanksgiving. This site offers western Canada's only waterwheel-powered flour mill (built in 1877), restaurant with a lunch menu, gardens, and gift shop featuring local artisans and heritage items. Our 11 site campground has water and power hook-ups. Each site backs onto Keremeos Creek. We are close to a wide range of other activities such as fishing, hiking, and wine tasting.

What an amazing place! We ate lunch here, a delicious homemade soup and sandwich, and then walked around the beautiful grounds. The highlight was spending about an hour talking with Cuyler Page, the man behind the restoration of the mill. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the mill and all of the work that has gone into... More

Went on the last week before closing the restaurant for the winter. Nice gardens and enjoyable to walk around. Had coffee and a homemade treat. Coffee tasted old but treats were good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely a must stop in Keremeos.

The primary reason one visits the Okanagan valley is for its wineries. It's very refreshing, therefore, to take a break from that and do some cultural sightseeing, especially in the morning. The gentleman that takes care of the mill has an amazing knowledge of the local history and it was really fascinating to listen to him. Everything is well presented.... More

Beautiful gardens on site. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly young lady in costume who told us there were staff on grounds ready to interpret the site. When we arrived at the mill we were shut out. Very disappointed as this was the main reason for our stop. Did not see any staff other than a gardener pruning... More

Finally had time to stop in and thoroughly enjoyed our visit and tour. The grist mill was very interesting, showing how flour was ground. Loved the outdoor summer kitchen and the silver dollar pancakes were yummy.

We stayed there for one night at their campground which has water and electricity. There is a restroom but no showers. All the sites are next to a creek and it is very quiet and relaxing there. You can tour the historic mill site with a guide between 0900 ant 1700 daily (fee). Campers can explore the garden on their... More

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! For others reading your review, we'd like to say that the site is closed at 5:00PM and shouldn't be visited after hours, for liability and all sorts of other reasons. Instead, consider taking a nice walk on the road through our lovely neighbourhood or enjoy the dyke along. Similkameen River in the evening,... More

I found it one of the most beautiful campgrounds. Right by the River with a lot of lovely details and a wonderful Garden. My friends and i just stayed for the night that is why we could not enjoy the cute Restaurant. This place revealed its beauty specially at the late evening, with the sound of the River surrounded by... More

The Grist Mill is a must see, it has so much to offer, from camping, RV parking, a restaurant, beautiful gardens, and great venu of the local talent. It truly is worth the time to stop for a light lunch and a stroll through the garden.
