About
On the outskirts of Montpellier, the Chateau forms a cohesive whole with its French formal park and the 60 hectares of vines that surround it. All the architectural details of this 18th-century “Folly” (Monuments Historiques) point to the domain’s wine-growing role and its dedication to women and love, often reflected in the labels on each cuvee, which show the wines’ historical ties.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Parts of this "Folie" were built in the 17th century; the tour describes how the house evolved and points out various decorative elements both indoors and out. Tours in French and/or English. Wine tasting very good too.

We came here to see the chateau. But we were pleasantly surprised to do a wine tasting in such a beautiful atmosphere . Ann Sophie was great incredibly telling us the story of the chateau and the architecture. Just lovely. Beautiful gardens. Tasting the wines was a highlight. The stone soil makes these wines distinctive. We took only 2 bottles, only because we had already purchased wines. I recommend this tour to anyone in the Montpellier area. Just on the outskirts. Worth the trip.

The tour lasts 45 minutes and gave a very interesting overview of the house and its history including the various artwork on the front and back of the house. Set in 4 hectares of designed gardens it is a stunning location particularly in summertime. The wine tasting was also very enjoyable (we bought some) and there is a small museum with implements etc used in the past in the vineyard

They did a good job with the tour and tasting. To my friends and I, this was much more about the chateau and the grounds and their history than it was about the wine. The tour guide did an excellent job on a nice, relaxed walk all through the grounds and gardens and into the chateau. Created a perfect afternoon. The wine tasting aspect just seemed disorganized compared to so many tastings I have done. No real flow or much education there. And, they were not completely sure which wines were available to taste. But, worth going for the grounds if it is a nice afternoon.

We enjoyed a last minute tasting and tour here, purchased 3 bottles and brought back to the states. All of our wine loving friends swear it's the best wine they have ever had. I wish they exported to USA!

We visited Chateau de l'Engarran for a tasting during our stay at Domain de Biar and were given a fantastic introduction to the local wines.

We were guided through the tasting by the sales manager who speaks excellent English (a bonus for us, travelling from Australia).

During French Heritage Days they had open house tour. We did get to see the chateau and to taste wines. Tour was in french so we didn't really understand anything but it was nice still.

Typically I am not into Languedoc red wine because Grenache and Mourvedre are not compatibel with my taste buds, but their wines were based on Syrah and so I did like them very much. Also the sweet fortified red was surprisingly good!

There were 8 of us spending a friendly evening last Thursday.
Nothing to say about the welcome and the place.
But what a disappointment regarding the quality/price ratio.
The Cabiron house did not honor its name with the dishes served: a decent starter platter but nothing more but above all the 2 lousy dishes compared to the asking price.
Aren't you making fun of the world by offering chicken wings?
Each of us got away with 100 euros for 2 with wine whose price compared to the normal price was too high
I had planned to bring 6 other friends there in July: we will move on

Very....commercial welcome. Stereotypical speech presenting wines with suggestions for pairing with overrated dishes. Then announcement of the tasting at 5€ per person. No feeling of welcome, except from the wallet!
Other winegrowers, sincerely warm and welcoming, who enjoy showing off their wine, deserve more attention.
