Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and my sister have just been on the , Lady Anne ride at Stonetrail riding stables. We can,t recommend them enough, I went there very nervous and Alison and her team of helpers went out of their way to reassure me, the horses are all wonderfull and really look after you, I have my confidence back and will be going back for more !

An amazing break at Stonetrail on their confidence building Lady Anne Trail ride. Yes, I have been riding on and off for over 30 years but mainly with a very nervous feeling and a real concern I'm going to make an idiot of myself. Here it is very different. Alison and her team go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. First you meet your horse, they are all friendly sensible types who don't spook, get over excited and would never dream of going any faster than you have asked them to. They all like a bit of fuss made of them and once you have got them tacked up you are firm friends.

Once you are out of the yard and into the countryside there is a lot of reassurance and no expectation you will do anything you are not comfortable with. When you do get to canter in those lovely wide open spaces it is truly exhilarating. Twenty odd years of nervous feelings just went on the first day!

The accommodation at Stonetrail is lovely and ample food is provided for breakfasts and lunches. A meal at the one of the local pubs rounds the day off nicely.

Alison, Bronte and the team of helpers (Dave, Marie and Christine on this ride) were great company and I think all five of us on this holiday came away with a renewed love of riding and a lot more skill and enthusiasm.

We took eight horses to Stonetrail for a four day riding holiday. The equestrian facilities were first class with comfortable stabling and nice grazing. Our party of ten were very comfortable in the beautifully renovated traditional farm house, which was very well equipped for our self catering needs. Alison and Colin and their staff were supportive, and gave us useful suggestions for rides. The trekking from the centre is excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend Stonetrail for a trekking holiday.

I was given the gift of a 3 day horse riding holiday at Stonetrail for my 50th. I have never actually been on a holiday of this kind before, and was unsure what to expect. All I can say is that i had the most amazing 3 days with the most lovelist of fellow riders, staff and horses. Everything was well organised but completely relaxed. In the day we ventured out to explore the Yorkshire dales. In the evening after tea, cake and a dip in the hot tub we all joined up to visit a local pub. Would recommend to anyone looking for a friendly, chilled horse riding holiday with great accomodation. Hope to return one day myself.

Amazing time spent here with a group of girlies for my sisters 40th! What an incredible find! The accomadation is top class - finished to a beautiful standard with everything you could possibly need!
The cottages are all interlinked but each with seperate kitchens & bathrooms - all ensuite! Fluffy white towels & robes were provided for every guest - lovely touch.
We chose to have caterers in for a dinner party & all sat around the large country table in the biggest kitchen - it was amazing & Lakeland caterers superb!
I chose to stay here as my sister has a love of horses - what an incredible place if you want a true riding break!
We chose to chill out - especially in the fab hot-tub - they even provided plastic wine glasses for our fizz!

A lovely 15 minute walk to the Fat Lamb pub for a great rustic lunch & you can appreciate the beautiful countryside around as you wander up dale down dale.

Cannot thank Alison & her lovely family enough for allowing us to stay in their beautiful rustic stone cottages - it's a must to try folks!

We arrived after doing 3 days riding the Pennine Bridleway from Settle. A fabulous welcome for both horses & ourselves. The facilities are second to none!! Horses settled straight away. & for the accommodation!! It was Amazing!!! Clean, tidy, warm & friendly atmosphere, so relaxing. & the use of the jacuzzi with the view of the hills!!! Plenty to do both walking, biking or as we did riding our horses over the hills around the arena! Didn't want to leave!! We will be back soon!

I did a wonderful full day ride on Tasha through some beautiful quiet country lanes and up on top of the fells for some spectacular views. The riding centre is very well organised and take good care of their horses and clients. We rode at all paces, including some fast canters over the fells. Highly recommend this stables.

My friend and I stayed at Eden Valley Riding Centre for 3 nights and had 3 amazing days riding down the valleys and on the fells. The scenery is stunning. Alison matched me up with Harry my pony for the holiday and I fell in love with him.
Safety is a priority at Eden Valley and nothing was too much trouble for Alison and Bronty.
On our last day Colin bought us a picnic lunch down by the river and we had some exciting canters on the way home.
I've been on a few riding holidays but this is the best. We hope to return.

Cant rate the horse riding but the cottages were perfect! There is a group of 4 small cottages each sleeping 2 or 3 with the main house which has 3 rooms sleeping a total of 8. There was only 10 of us so tons of space. Clean & Well equipped we couldnt have asked for more. The hot tub was amazing! It is about 1/2 mile walk to the Fat Lamb pub which serves great food (10% off if pre-booked via stonetrail) then we had a therapist come to the house on the Saturday and we all had lovely treatments. All round a great weekend! 😄

It is the most safety conscious and beginner-friendly riding school I've ever been to - and I've been to a few! The team went out of their way to make sure that my boyfriend - a first timer - felt comfortable and safe. They also made sure that everyone had fun and enjoyed their riding experience, no matter what their level. I was thoroughly impressed and would recommend it.
