Booked on with these guys with a very mixed group in terms of experience on a bike.
Everything from them who couldn't ride a bike to people with a full licence and some offroad experience and these guys catered for it all in one group.
They really took their time to learn who was who and what they needed in terms of coaching.
Both people who'd never been on a bike were riding around well by the end of the day and had learnt so much, those of us who could ride came away with a ton of knowledge and everyone had a laugh.
Even converted my brother to get into offroading with me!
Overall couldn't of asked for a better day out, the whole team was great, Mick himself was a legend and every other member of the team was welcoming, friendly, dead down to earth and knew their stuff when it came to riding so
Also need to note they did all of this in some properly icey and snowy conditions.
The kit they provide from gear to the bikes themselves is good stuff, well looked after and clean.
Everyone's keen to get booked on in the new year for another day! I'm planning to go a few times in the new year as the other half loved learning to ride and wants to get into riding enduro and stuff with me!
Also value for money is genuinely decent, take into account a full days riding, their kit, their bikes, their fuel and tuition it's not a bad price at all.
One last note is listen to them when they tell you what you'll need to bring. Well worth it.

My lad Sam has just had a fantastic day with Mick and 7 other riders in the Welsh hills. He is a novice having only passed his CBT but found the day challenging but very informative. He learned so much in terms of riding skill from Mick which he will transfer to his road riding. He cannot wait to go back again. Sam says he liked the fact there was loads of riding time in the day and felt it was value for money.

Have just completed an amazing day of riding in the stunning Welsh Mountains. From the outset you are made to feel welcome, the team are so friendly and no huge egos here. Mick will ensure that you have the right bike to suit your capabilities and stature. Constant encouragement and advice given, by the end of the day I felt so much more confident and had a smile from ear to ear throughout the day thanks to Mick, Pete and Rachel. Would definitely highly recommend the Mick Extance experience to anyone who rides no matter what your previous experience and capabilities are. I will definitely be signing up for another day of pure fun and exhilaration. Just do it! 🙏🏼

The most fun I have had on or off a bike for years. Mick, Richard and Adam were superb and we had an adrenaline and fun packed day with lots of laughs along the way. The KTM 250 was perfect and the team have you tackling obstacles and terrain you wouldn't believe. Needless to say the views of the snowy mountains were spectacular. I've been riding for 20 years, mostly on road but some off road too, and to learn from such an experienced team, especially Mick, who is a legend was a real treat. I'll definitely be back. Chers

Having never ridden an off-road motorbike I was a bag of nerves and excitement about the day. I shouldn't of been nervous as I finished the day full of confidence and smiles. Summing the experience up in one word.... FUN!
I booked a 1-1 training experience. My riding went from lurching the bike about to smooth and confident in a single day, I have already booked another as I'm now hooked.
It started with a safety briefing, due to the current Covid pandemic I was also informed of handwash stations etc. Once kitted up it was off to meet my instructor, Mick Extance himself, who is one of the friendliest blokes I've ever met. He asked about my riding experience and I felt immediately confident the day would be tailored to me.
After a brief rundown of the bike, we headed off to a flat training area to get used to basic off-road techniques. Then we were off through a mix of terrain, stopping regularly to take in the stunning landscape, catch our breath, and chat. At every step Mick was explaining how he viewed the terrain, approached obstacles, and shared his wealth of experience.
By the end of the day I was dirty, tired, and grinning ear to ear. The whole team are friendly, welcoming, and approachable. One of the best experiences I've had.

This is not my first visit to the Mick Extance off-road experience and, since last time, lots has changed and some things haven’t. They now have a new base and new bikes and much improved riding gear. However, what hasn’t changed is the unfailing good nature of the team, the magnificent environment and the enthusiasm for all things bike from Mick himself.
They have an uncanny knack of making the riding just challenging enough so that you have to work at it and come away with a feeling of achievement. What looked like madness at the start of the day you will be tackling with some confidence at the end of the day … and a constant smile.
You may fall over (as I did several times) and there is always someone to help. Never did it feel like it was a problem. Each time there were words of advice and when you did beat an obstacle the team made you feel really good about it.
We were lucky enough to have Mick with us for the whole day giving real insight into what we were doing and how it would apply in a real competitive environment. And that is one thing that makes it real; everyone that was supporting us was a competitor and expert in their own right (and made things look annoyingly easy).
I am a moderately competent road rider. This event had me re-thinking and adding to my skills to suit this very different riding environment; loose shale and stone, mud, ruts, water, tree roots, precipitous slopes and rocks. Sometimes all together. Not so much of that on my average ride out!!
Highly recommended whatever your level of skill. You will come away having learnt a lot and a more rounded biker. I was aching. Not sure if it was the hard work of the day or the strain of a constant grin.

Brilliant experience really enjoyed it. Great training with really good instructors who are constantly looking to expand your skills, giving positive feedback all the time. Pushing everyone to be the best they can. But done in a friendly and encouraging manner. Can’t fault this training experience as it’s both fun and challenging but you can really learn from it.

Awesome day riding in the Welsh hills, stunning scenery and top notch instructors. My daughter had never ridden before but Pete was brilliant and got her riding hills, water runs and trails by the end of the day.
Would highly recommend this to riders of all ages and experience.

The best thing I've done this year, no question!
What a fantastic day out this was. From the moment we pulled into the car park, Shane was there to greet us and made us feel totally relaxed and welcome. Free Coffee and Tea as soon as we arrived, all the kit we had pre-ordered was laid out ready and waiting. We watched a short safety introduction video and then the short bus ride up the hill to the where the bikes and Mick were waiting for us. Mick is an absolute Gentleman and the team are so pleasant, so helpful and most of all, so friggin patient with everyone!
And then..... the place itself.
There simply isn't anywhere on the planet with scenery as stunning, it is a true privilege just to be there. The sights are simply breathtaking and awe inspiring.
But we came for the riding right?
Well, it certainly didn't disappoint!
The bikes are well maintained and absolutely perfect for the job in hand, you simply don't need anything more than the Beta Xtrainer's.
Straight off the bat, we were having a laugh in the "slow" race, then warming up with some stunning trails. The afternoon saw us upping the ante a little bit and doing some incredible climbs and navigating the wood section on the "Dark Side".
Who does it cater for the most? Everyone, it's as simple as that.
It doesn't matter if you are a hard enduro rider or first time off-roader, there is something here for everyone.
And if you are unsure of your ability, the team will find the level that suits you best and stick you with other riders of similar ability. You will never be overwhelmed by the terrain, but will challenge yourself throughout the day. You will end the day as a more accomplished rider than when you turned up, and will be longing to get another day booked in the diary! I can't wait to get back for more, thank you to everyone that makes this place so special!

Took our own bikes and had Adam for the day. Learnt so much and the venue is 1st class. Adam knows his stuff and was a superb guide/instructor, set the pace well and understood our needs.
We will be back and I can’t recommend them enough, had a chance to chat to Mike early on and he was very interesting and engaging. Beautiful setting if you have chance to look….. enjoy the views.

I think our day was around £220 per person including damage insurance. Was worth every penny tho as a fantastic day out.

hi andy, suggest long johns and a t shirt.
possibly your normal socks and a thick pair to ensure good fit in boots
all other clothing supplied by mick.
full set of spare clothes and possiblky a towel for changing into afterwards.
