A small group of joyous women have just had a Winter Festive Stay in Lyme Regis 'The Pearl of Dorset'. And what a feast it turned out to be in every respect. Wonderfully interesting walks in & around this magical & lightfilled Jurassic Coast line with our leader Chrissie (a fountain of local knowledge) meandering along the beach in the footsteps of Mary Anning, getting blown away by the beauty of rocks and the gentle lapping of the sea, atmospheric hikes through open fields and forests while chatting away amongst ourselves. Visiting the Mill House with it's super friendly miller & his staff, a wintery walk along The Cob in the midst of a winter blast and of course a visit to the museum. Evening meals in cozy eateries with a glass or two to celebrate the end of an amazing day. Dashing in and out shops & galleries in search of Christmas presents. Luxuriating ourselves in Lyme Townhouse (guest house) with its yammi breakfasts and lovely attentive staff. Highly recommended accommodation! I'm sure there's much more to say but I leave my impressions here in a nutshell. Thanks for a great weekend! 😊

A well organised holiday that included a brilliant selection of interesting towns staying 2 nights in each destination except one. This gave us an opportunity to relax and explore and get a flavour of each town we visited.
Our walks included a great variety of coastal , woodland, and walking through olive trees and grape vines.
I enjoyed the train trips to various destinations making the day more interesting.
Our local guide gave us interesting information and historical facts throughout the trip.
The walking woman rep.was helpful and good fun and very good at ensuring the group gelled well .She made sure everyone was happy and had their needs met.
I was disappointed in the options for vegetarians during our meals out. There was generally little options compared to meat eaters.

Many thanks for your review. We really appreciate the feedback. We have taken note re meals out and in future will try and find restaurants with more options for vegetarians.

Spent 5 days with a small group of very friendly ladies all travelling solo & meeting for the first time to walk 30 miles of Hadrian’s wall.
We were led by Jo who was our guide. Jo is very knowledgeable of the area and knew the route well so we did not need maps.
The pace allowed as to walk the distance comfortably and gave enough time to spend in museums and a guided tour of Vindolanda.
The trip was well organised and well thought out with plenty of rest time.
Diamond Taxi, a local firm were booked for drop off and pick ups, prompt and flexible.
We all stayed for 5 nights at The Centre of Britain hotel, The hotel is a little gem, I can not recommend highly enough. Friendly, clean, comfortable and generous meals cooked to order. Money and time well spent. Thankyou. See you again.

I was looking for a group hiking trip in Europe when I ran across Walking Women through Journeywoman. The five-day holiday in Scotland was excellent! Guides Stef and Lorraine were so knowledgeable and skilled. I especially appreciated their ability to shift the itinerary to accommodate the weather (as expected in Sept, we did get rain). The other women on the trip were so fun and interesting, I truly enjoyed every moment. Well-planned, well-executed! I loved some of the features that I couldn't find in other women's travel groups (all rooms with ensuite, no single supplement)

Hello , I have just returned from completing The Lighthouse Way with Walking Women. If you like a hike that is remote and off the beaten track then this coastal path could be a great option for you.
The scenery was spectacular and the terrain was varied. We hiked along cliff edges, over high sand dunes, scrambled over boulders, walked through dense woodland and along pristine sandy beaches.
The hike was challenging but very rewarding.I liked the itinerary as everyday was action packed and was impressed with our guide. The hotels on route were nice too, at times basic but always clean with friendly staff.
Overall an amazing and memorable trip thanks to Walking Women.

I highly recommend this travel experience if you enjoy hiking and are interested in less tourist areas! Our guide Lorraine was excellent on the hikes and arranging meals and other activities. I will definitely consider other trips through walking women!

This Turkey in Spring walking holiday (April 2023) based on a traditional 'gulet' boat for the week was an amazing experience. The guide was a fount of knowledge of the coastline and she took us on stunningly beautiful walks straight from the boat - into the hills, meeting local nomadic people and discovering the beauty of the Turkish Mediterranean coastline in a very unique way on woodland tracks and forest paths. The crew looked after us really well with lovely food. My favourite thing was to be able to swim straight off the boat into clear turquoise waters. Highly recommended for anyone who loves being outside and having an adventure!

Took my niece to experience wild and wonderful Iceland which we had been planning do for 12 months, and when I saw that Walking Women had a trip going in March I booked straight away. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. Walking Women organised with their local Icelandic travel guide Saga all the details, which meant we did not need to think about anything apart from how many layers we were going to wear each day! Iceland is the most incredible other worldly amazing place and everyone who can should visit. I would definitely love to go back.

WalkingWomen has been AMAZING to work with and I had the most incredible time on the Adventure to Andorra trip!! This was my first time doing any kind of hiking tour and I was nervous especially coming from so far away (flying from the U.S.), but Ginny and Sara and the WalkingWomen team made the while experience so easy and smooth for me, even when I had flight delays on arrival. They took incredible care of both myself and my mother throughout the trip and our local Andorran guide Nicola was phenomenal!! We had the best time with all of the ladies in our group and I consider them all friends for life now. I can't wait to plan more WalkingWomen trips in the future!!

An outstandingly amazing walking trip in the Swiss Alps with a small group of supportive and inspiring women. I’d been apprehensive about carrying a backpack with all my stuff but took Walking Women’s great advice on kit and minimalist packing and, at 67, was delighted to find I’m stronger than I thought. Mountains, waterfalls, lakes, cows and cowbells, wild flowers, lovely accommodation, good food, Swiss wine - so much to marvel at and enjoy. Our guide was fantastic - incredibly knowledgeable about hiking and the mountains, consultative, creative and encouraging. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
