Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a wonderful, nostalgic look into the past with an excellent entrance price. It is possible to spend 2 to 3 hours here and be thoroughly entertained. Drinks prices are excellent in the lovely cafe.

Definitely worth a visit. We arrived around 10.30am & the car park was empty which made me think it wasn’t worth going in, but how wrong was I. The staff were very friendly, the toilets were clean & the food was reasonably priced & freshly cooked. The exhibits were well displayed, informative & brought back many childhood memories. The entrance fee was £10 per adult which I think was an absolute bargain. I would definitely recommend Oakham Treasures

Found this place my chance when someone mentioned it on facebook, we never knew it was there, despite it only being 40 min drive away, and just off J19 of the M5 which we have been up and down numerous times. Could do with one of those brown tourists signs on the M5, as i have mentioned it to several other people since who does not know it exists! We are a couple in our early 50's and spent a good 3 hours here reminiscing about the past, we had a nice lunch half way through. I then returned a month later and brought my elderly parents as a birthday treat and they absolutely loved it, remembering pretty much everything! Also treated them to a lunch which they enjoyed. Bringing another elderly family friend soon for a 90th birthday treat. Keep up the good work :)

What a wonderful nostalgic experience. Three hours of memories, a really super place. Caters for all ages and although we did not use it this trip, there is a great cafe too.

Excellent museum. We had lunch at the cafe which was good. Friendly staff. A great activity for a rainy day as all indoor but huge. Much bigger than it was last time we went about 15 years ago. No longer has a farm shop though. Took us four hours including lunch to look round. Something for everyone. I wish there was more info on the items there and someone to ask about the exhibits. I asked someone about the huge horse bit collection but he couldn't help.

I’d been looking forward to my visit for quite a while and I was not disappointed. I arrived at the opening time of 10:00am and was greeted by a friendly staff member. I decided to have something to eat before I went on the tour. I selected the full breakfast which was amazingly full !
I then entered the museum and wow!.. what a delight.
I spent the next four hours taking in all the collection of exhibits.
I had entered the collection alone but by the time I came out the place was buzzing with visitors.
I’ll definitely be returning, even the 4 hour drive from Lancashire won’t put me of from a further visit.

Are there stairs? My sister can't manage stairs at present after an operation on her foot.

No stairs - convenient ramps make it ideal for wheelchair users.

You will love it.
We are 68 with replacement knees and several feet operations so You can rest your feet as you go around, as there is a lot to see. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.
