    Amazing Oakham time warp!
What an amazing place this museum is. They seem to have just about everything there from vintage tractors, some old cars & motorbikes, medical equipment, beer can collections, tools, multiple variants of Gromit, even a working model railway, you name it & they seem to have it (just about!). The only downside is that you can only look & not touch but I guess that's the way to keep vintage things preserved. Also there are places to sit & rest your legs & the attached Acorns Cafe is a great added extra!
Thank you so much for your kind words - we look forward to seeing you again.

    Fascinating Museum
WOW! What a fantastic museum jammed packed with nostalgic items including food packaging, medicines, toys, shops signs, post boxes and a few vintage cars thrown into the mix too! Spent 4 hours here, could have spent longer as there is so much to see! I especially enjoyed the shop stores and their products (sweet shop and haberdashery). As a previous review stated there is not any further information on the items, however I did not mind this as the items spoke for themselves. Family owned I believe, the museum is ran extremely well. Very accessible with lots of chairs dotted around the museum to have sit down. One member of our group did the children’s question trail which kept us all entertained! There is also a large cafe which we did not eat at, but it looked very nice and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return. Would you consider introducing a free return visit with every ticket bought?
Many thanks for your kind words.

Amazing - it's even bigger too
Keeps getting better and better. We probably haven't been for 7 years so went again with 85 year old father. The place must be double the size of our last visit - and full of interesting items not "space fillers". £10 each (£9 seniors) and very low priced tea and coffee. We spent over FOUR HOURS in there, reading less than 1/3rd of the information available. Handy benches and chairs were available throughout the rooms - even free loan wheelchairs. My feet were killing me but our 85 year old managed with minor rest stops lol. It was quiet on the Saturday we went. Do be aware they have strange opening hours (closed Sundays which is 2md busiest day for days out). But do please visit - it's an amazing place and they deserve support.
Thank you for your kind words and hopefully we will see you again.

    great fun
Myself and my two five year old girls spent 2 or 3 hours walking round this amazingly interesting museum. I found it a fascinating reminder of past memories whilst the girls found lots of the exhibits fascinating including the train track, tractors, and various random items that only a 5 year can find so interesting eg a plastic cow, monkey toys, and the like. Ended up with nice cake. A surprisingly good find!
Thank you for your kind words - homemade cake is always a winner!

    Simply fantastic!
I’d been looking forward to my visit for quite a while and I was not disappointed. I arrived at the opening time of 10:00am and was greeted by a friendly staff member. I decided to have something to eat before I went on the tour. I selected the full breakfast which was amazingly full ! I then entered the museum and wow!.. what a delight. I spent the next four hours taking in all the collection of exhibits. I had entered the collection alone but by the time I came out the place was buzzing with visitors. I’ll definitely be returning, even the 4 hour drive from Lancashire won’t put me of from a further visit.
So glad you enjoyed our museum and full English breakfast! Hope to see you again.

    Great
Excellent museum. We had lunch at the cafe which was good. Friendly staff. A great activity for a rainy day as all indoor but huge. Much bigger than it was last time we went about 15 years ago. No longer has a farm shop though. Took us four hours including lunch to look round. Something for everyone. I wish there was more info on the items there and someone to ask about the exhibits. I asked someone about the huge horse bit collection but he couldn't help.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Lovely Place with Amazing Memories of our and our Parents Childhoods
Found this place my chance when someone mentioned it on facebook, we never knew it was there, despite it only being 40 min drive away, and just off J19 of the M5 which we have been up and down numerous times. Could do with one of those brown tourists signs on the M5, as i have mentioned it to several other people since who does not know it exists! We are a couple in our early 50's and spent a good 3 hours here reminiscing about the past, we had a nice lunch half way through. I then returned a month later and brought my elderly parents as a birthday treat and they absolutely loved it, remembering pretty much everything! Also treated them to a lunch which they enjoyed. Bringing another elderly family friend soon for a 90th birthday treat. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you for your kind comments. Look forward to seeing you again.

    Brilliant
Definitely worth a visit. We arrived around 10.30am & the car park was empty which made me think it wasn’t worth going in, but how wrong was I. The staff were very friendly, the toilets were clean & the food was reasonably priced & freshly cooked. The exhibits were well displayed, informative & brought back many childhood memories. The entrance fee was £10 per adult which I think was an absolute bargain. I would definitely recommend Oakham Treasures
Thank you for your kind words - look forward to seeing you again.

We were absolutely amazed by this fantastic collection of things from years gone by and the memories they brought back. Collected by a single man at auctions and car boot sales now is an absolute wonder. His daughters still work in the museum and run the restaurant. Food quality is excellent, plentiful and extremely reasonable. Well worth a visit especially for the seniors amongst us.

Amazing place of childhood memories! An Aladdin’s cave of history! There is also a large restaurant with friendly staff. Everywhere is fully accessible no awkward steps lots of space to move comfortably around all exhibit areas allow yourself at least 3 hours viewing and no doubt you will need to come back for more! Thoroughly recommended. Just a thought I would like to have heard some background music from the different eras?

This is a wonderful, nostalgic look into the past with an excellent entrance price. It is possible to spend 2 to 3 hours here and be thoroughly entertained. Drinks prices are excellent in the lovely cafe.
