Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brilliant - it all reveals in real time, and is exciting and informative. Loved it! I was with a 9 year old and an 11 year old, and they loved the way there’s an interaction and suspense when the Pirate is writing. We got exercise, saw parts of the city and found out some details we didn’t already know

This brought us a ray of sunshine on what was a very difficult weekend with the news of Christmas being cancelled! Really enjoyed it, a great distraction and something different to do. Learning a few bits about Bristol was brilliant, we moved here in October and are based on the Harbourside so this was great for us. Quality of the experience was brilliant and will certainly be looking to do this again when we are able to have some visitors. Can you do some more?! 🙂
Interface and UI of the chatbox was great, a novel and fun experience.

I bought the treasure hunt as part of our work Summer Party - we split into three teams, and every one loved it! Most of my company have lived in Bristol for years, they were learning new things about this brilliant city, and those of us who are relatively new, loved discovering new places.
The interface was easy to use, albeit a little slow with the facts coming through - it might work better as a paragraph of facts so that the next clue can come through faster? (We're a competitive bunch!)
Would highly recommend for those new to Bristol and veterans alike!

Ahoy Samantha, thanks for leaving us a 5 star review. I'm delighted you and the rest of the company had such a great time playing it for your summer party. That's a fun idea about the clues coming quicker, too :) Thanks again for your support, hope to see you on one of our hunts again soon, Ian

I’ve done a couple of these now, they’re a brilliant way to see any city! I do them with my other half whenever we go somewhere new to learn about the history and see the sights. The treasure hunt always manages to find the balance of being tricky enough that it’s challenging but not so difficult you’ll be stuck for too long.

The Bristol one was great, you’ll see an amazing view at the crows nest and learn a few quirks about Bristol. My personal favourite was the mound under King William IIIs horse :)

Very cheap too so value for money also. cant recommend highly enough

My partner and I had great fun finding our way round the old part of the city. The places taken to were not ones we may have noticed otherwise on our trip and we appreciated the opportunity to explore en route.

Such a great treasure hunt - we’ve all lived here most of our lives but found out some fantastic history about Bristol alongside a super walk - about 2.5 hoursish all on the flat. Super waste of a lockdown afternoon, highly recommended esp as there were zero teenage winges.

Great way to discover a city, whether you're new to it, or think you know everything there is. You'll surely find some hidden gems you didn't realise were there. Excellent!

So much better than we thought it would be. 100% recommendation. The clues were clever, the group chat was helpful and the history was an added bonus.

Would do again!

I played Treasure Hunt Bristol with my husband and six month old baby in her pram and we had a great time. The route was great and took us to all the must see bits of the city and also to some places off the beaten track. The clues were fun to solve, not too hard and it was great we could ask for hints the few times we were stuck.

I liked that we could go at our own pace and we stopped for a coffee and drinks as we went round. Searching for clues definitely made us pay attention and notice more of the little details in the city.

We played in the summer when the lockdown had eased, but this would be totally fine to play with social distancing as you each have a phone and everything is outdoors. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to see Bristol in a fun and different way!

If you're looking for an outdoor socially-distanced socialising idea that isn't just another walk, I recommend these Treasure Hunts. I did one with friends on Boxing Day, it was great. Aimed at a group that's a mix of adults and kids, but works for just adults too.
