    Good view
The climb to the top of the tower is not for the faint of heart, as there are 109 narrow spiral stairs to negotiate. However, the views from the top are more than worth the effort. On a clear day, you can see for miles in every direction, including the city skyline, the Bristol Channel, and the Severn Valley.

Bristol being a major port and originating place for historic voyages onto the Atlantic, Cabot arrived here in the late 1490s, under the patronage of Henry VII. His most famous voyage began in 1497 from Bristol and reached what is now Canada. To celebrate the quadricentennial of this pioneering journey, building the gorgeous tower began in 1897 and it was completed the following year.

    Great views over Bristol
Lovely peaceful park area just above the city. The tower has a steep narrow staircase which takes you to great views all around Bristol. Can't believe its free as well, amazing for the UK! Definitely worth doing.

    Beautiful!!
Absolutely stunning views and a very pretty walk. Free to go in about tower. Well worth the hilly walk. It’s stunning. Also love that there’s so many different paths to get to the top. So you can keep coming back and trying the other ways.

You need to know where you are going as it is not well signposted from the centre. For those of some knowledge it is found off roads from Park street. Head for the Cathedral and keep going uphill and turn left as you get towards the Museum. It has excellent views but in order to have them it is on high ground overlooking the river Avon which means a lengthy walk up hill, testing for those of less than fully fit or of an older age. Once there you still have to walk up a narrow winding staircase and hope that you don't meet anyone else! At one time you had to pay but since its refurbishment this is no longer the case. Even if you are unable to climb the tower it is situated in a parkland area enabling you to see across the river landscape and parts of the city.

It's a free tower located in a nice park. The stairs are quite narrow and it's difficult to pass each other, so you have to listen to your footsteps and take turns climbing up and down. From the observation deck at the top, you can get a panoramic view of the city of Bristol.

Came here with two of my children (aged 20 and 10) in March. It was a bright sunny day, which helped and my youngest loved the walk up to the tower as well as climbing up the tower itself, from which you get an amazing view over Bristol. Well worth a brief visit.

Brandon hill park and Cabot Tower. We visited here today, my first visit and I've lived in the area for 40 years! Impressive tower. Great views. Park Very pretty with the daffodils, also plenty of lovely spring bulbs struggling to get through the mess that the gardens are. Awful grasses, so much ivy and generally not attractive at all. What a shame. It looks very neglected and not just recently I'd say. I'm sure money is an issue, as it is council run, but why not have volunteers working alongside your paid employees as the NT do. I'm sure it looked beautiful years ago. Please try and do something about it.

Tower is located on a top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful park and great city view. However you need some fitness to climb up, especially if you are with a kid. Parking would be a problem, though there is some at small roads around it. Unfortunately, no public toilets here. Tower is temporary closed. A must see in Bristol, close by walk from the cathedral.

Let me tell you about Cabot Tower in Bristol! This place is a total gem and I absolutely loved it. First of all, the tower itself is super cool looking - it's this big old red sandstone tower that just screams "I'm important and historic!" And let me tell you, it is both of those things.

Now, I don't want to spoil anything for you, but the views from the top of this tower are absolutely breathtaking. I mean, you can see the whole city of Bristol from up there! It's like you're on top of the world. And if you're anything like me, you'll take about a million selfies because the lighting is just so good up there.

But here's the thing - getting to the top of the tower is not for the faint of heart. There are about a million stairs to climb (okay, maybe not a million, but it feels like it), and by the time you get to the top, you'll be sweating like crazy. But let me tell you, it is so worth it. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring some water with you!

Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out Cabot Tower if you're ever in Bristol. It's historic, it's beautiful, and it's a great workout all in one. What more could you ask for?

What a lovely place. As soon as I entered I felt as though I had left Bristol. I can't believe I have never been move. Full paths - lots of spots to stop and sit if you need a rest. Incredible views of Bristol at the top of the hill. Lovely gardens and ponds. Lots of birds about to.

What a fabulous way to view the city and well worth the slight incline to climb to get to the actual tower itself. Absolutely loved this and the fact that it was free was an added bonus. I can't recommend this highly enough as a must to do when visiting Bristol. The views are awesome!
