If you're looking for a calm and pleasant copy for a walk in Bristol, then visit the Arnos Vale Cemetery. The space isn't massive, so one can easily take in all the sights in a short period of time. The greenery is wonderful; such a fabulous green space in urban Bristol.

It seemed to be a strange place to find a café, in a cemetery but there was an art festival in the main hall , After we visited there, we went into the café next door.

I took my husband and our dog on an unusual trip out to a cemetery! This wasn't just an ordinary cemetery - this was Arnos Vale Cemetery in the centre of Bristol. There is so much history hidden in this beautiful place. There are many people buried here who had so much to do with the history and making of... More

I was a member of a Group that visited Arnos Vale Cemetery. I was not sure if I would find it a place of interest but in fact the visit was absolutely fascinating. We took a pre arranged tour and our guide for the day was exceptional. Every question we asked was answered with much knowledge and good humour. To... More

Arnos Vale Cemetery offers a welcome respite from the buzz of city life as cars whizz by on the A4; there is a choice of walks through the woodland, a small shop and a cafe which has great staff and serves delicious food but be aware that during the school holidays children abound as the venue provides activities for youngsters.... I really enjoyed my visit here. The grounds are spectacular. I didn't get a chance to do a guided tour, but I will definitely go back for the experience. Walking around the and seeing how Victorians memorialize their dead was very interesting. I highly recommend this peaceful place.

Great place for a quiet walk. Could be morbid but it's not. Every grave has a story to tell, whether famous or not Leaflets are available with suggested walks but you can just wander at will if you wish. The café is to die for, beautiful fresh food.

As cemeteries go, this is a good one. Not that I make a habit of lurking around graveyards, you understand... The site covers an area of 45 acres, most of it beneath mature trees. Crisscrossed with a network of paths, most of the cemetery is accessible, although some areas are densely overgrown. Very atmospheric & tranquil as only a cemetery... More

This magical, semi wild place oozes charm and character and is a photographer or artists paradise. Its vast and at times almost maze like,so perfect for a whole day out. No matter what the season, its an enchanting place to be.There is a... More
