We walked from the SS Great Britain into the City Centre, stopping at Montgomery's cafe (see my review) and passing MV Balmoral, moored in the docks (see the Wikipedia entry - I used to sail on her between Ilfracombe and Lundy Island in my youth). As other reviewers have said, there are plenty of places to eat and loads of... More

If you are interested in ships, docks and local history, this is a must but not nice in the rain. The docks cover a wide area so be prepared for a lot of walking

The old cranes which were used for moving cargo from dock side to boats are still in existence You can stroll along and visit the MShed, which houses a museum of all... More

I am always amazed at how the docks and floating harbour were conceived and executed and it is a lovely and interesting walk with pubs and restaurants at convenient intervals!

In Bristol for the first time and did a lovely walk around the docks and floating harbor. Cafes, dining, galleries, museums, famous ship, buskers. A real happening. Fun during the day but really beautiful at night with all the lights. Bristol has done a great job developing this area. Also helpful tourist information center.

We wrapped up warm and went for a gentle stroll all around the docks and harbour area of Bristol. Lots of fantastic buildings and architecture to see dotted around the water as well as the fantastic boats. The sight of SS Great Britain was something special and stumbling over some of Banksy's work in the docks was quite a surprise... More
