I stayed in the sister hotel next to the bar and it was recommended to me by the receptionist. The food is very reasonably priced, and there is a vast selection. Looking around they also do deals on a daily basis (2 for 1, steak night etc). There is also a good selection of drinks available. The atmosphere was nice... More

We booked Racks for a birthday do on Sat 25th Feb. They stood out from other venues right from the start with their flexible and helpful attitude. On the night itself, they couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, despite hosting a whole load of rugby fans in the main bar. We had an awesome time and I wouldn't hesitate... More

Unfortunately, I would not visit or recommend Racks to anyone. The service is far too slow, beyond acceptable. We arrived at 6.45pm and were immediately seated to our table, there were a few other diners but it was predominantly empty. I cannot fathom why we had to wait 45 minutes to receive our starters and a further 45 minutes to... More

Visited at about 20:15 on a thursday night using our tastecard and had an unpleasant experience. It took us just under 2 hours to receive a main each and a desert to share. On the menu the chicken pie lists that it has mushrooms in. The beef pie has no such listing. I was therefore very surprised when my beef... More

Visited in early December for a works Christmas meal. Party of 20+. Restaurant full of other large groups so atmosphere was buzzing. We had our own little area so was more private which was nice although still a slight squeeze to get everyone in. For £22 I thought the 3 course meal was very good - I had a terrine... More

Visited Racks for a Christmas meal with workmates. Interesting bar/restaurant hiding below The Clifton Hotel was quite noisy on initial entry due to a football match being televised in the bar just around from where we were seated. My choice of Christmas food was a mushroom en croute, basically a 3 inch diameter mushroom in flaky pastry with a garnish... More

While staying at the Clifton Hotel, having arrived at Bristol for my first ever visit I chose to eat at my accommodation, mostly for convenience. And I was very glad I did. The fish and chips with mushy peas were presented beautifully. I was amused that I was offered a plate to deconstruct it, to make it practical to eat,... More
