The Redgrave Theatre is a lovely smallish place that puts on a variety of acts and shows. Always worth a visit.

My score reflects the actual theatre, not the event! We were here to see the fantastic Stephen Merchant talk about Laurel and Hardy at the Slapstick Festival, which was hugely entertaining. It's a dumpy little threatre on a very quiet residential street. Coming from outside Bristol, it seems an odd place to have a theatre, well away from anything (Clifton is an easy 10 minute walk for a pre-theatre meal). I hear they are doing it up, which probably explains why it doesn't look great. I think this event should have been at a much bigger venue. It was hard work to get anywhere in the theatre foyer. Good job it wasn't a particularly cold night, as we had to wait outside before we went in because it was so rammed. The staff were friendly and helpful though. Thank you for your feedback. The Redgrave Theatre has been on this site since 1966 and was purpose built for Clifton College which is why it is situated where it is. We find that locals really enjoy spending time in Clifton and visiting the theatre afterwards. It was a very exciting opportunity for the Redgrave to be asked to host some of the Slapstick Festival this year and I do hope it continues in the future. The Slapstick Festival like to work with different venues across Bristol which supports smaller theatres within the community. As a theatre we have only been driving commercially for the past few years so we understand there are areas of work that need to be done to make improvements, however this is a 1960's building and therefore has limitations to what can be done. Thank you for your comments, the team is working very hard to make improvements for the future.

But please, don’t go in a hot summer day. They don’t have an air conditioners system. It’s literally boiling making the experience uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait for it to finish, and grasp some fresh air...
