Last night's performance of The Father was really superb. This is an extraordinary play masterfully translated from the French. The Kelvin Players, a non-professional company, did the play complete justice with tremendous acting galvernised by superb directing all in an intimate space. The performances and production would have graced the stage of many a professional theatre.…

As lovers of Terry Pratchett’s books, we booked tickets to see Going Postal for my fathers 60th birthday and had such a great evening. The actors and actresses were brilliant with such an intimate stage and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We laughed our way through the performance and would definitely go again :-)…

We went to see a play last night- it was an extremely enjoyable experience. I have never been to this little theatre before as I am fairly new to Bristol but what a treat. I believe the theatre would have once been a church? Maybe into the early 80's? Anyway its been nicely converted and now seats around 60 or so people- my apologies if this is inaccurate-as we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and given the tickets we booked online- there's a little ante room/bar with a small but very reasonably priced selection of nice drinks- you are also able to order for the interval. Onto the play itself- The secret Rapture- by David Hare- a slightly dark comedy- exploring greed and other human emotions- was really preformed very well. The lovely Meg Pickup as the self cantered Katherine was outstanding- giving a convincing and poignant performance. Fran Lewis as Isobel was commendable and believable, Fiona McClure could easily be our local Conservative MP and Ben Crocker made everyone smile with his references to Jesus. Patrick Andrew, who played Irwin also gave a fine and strong performance. And of course not forgetting the lovely sweary naughty Jenny Jope as Rhonda- excellent! All in all a great show, the stage hands performed seamlessly as well as the sound and lighting team- Finally a big thank you to William West who poured me an excellent pint of Wadworhs 6X - A MASSIVE WELL DONE to all!…
