Love all the play equipment and role play stuff. The addition of the dark sensory room has been great too. Loads of different areas and themes to keep little ones busy. Overall a really good soft play that we have visited every few months for a year or so.
My only gripe is that the food offering/service is not great if you have a child with allergies. We have multiple allergies and lots of soft-play places are inclusive and allow me to bring a nut-free packed lunch for her if there are no/limited options. Playtrain were unable to send me any allergy information by email in advance so that I could check what she could eat there in advance. In a phone conversation to follow this up they said I was not allowed to bring any food along for her, and that she could have quorn nuggets (which I have subsequently realised usually contain two of her allergens - we didn’t order them so didn’t check when there), and pitta/veg sticks with houmous (fine, although back then hard carrot sticks were a choking hazard as she didn’t have molars). When there once, I asked to see their allergen folder and it was quite disorganised (in my opinion) and I didn’t trust it (e.g. cheese sandwich was listed but milk was not ticked as an allergen). To be fair to them they do offer vegan ice cream, although we have not tried it, and there are pre-packaged snacks I could purchase there which she is able to eat.
Therefore, although I have visited a number of times and will continue to, I will only visit outside of meal times which is a shame. I simply don’t feel confident that she would be safe eating food purchased from their kitchen.

I’m so sorry to here this. Please let me reassure you our staff are highly qualified in food hygiene and food allergens. We also hold a 5 star food hygiene rating.
To resolve this, please just ask a member of staff next time. Just tell us what your allergies are and we will always assist. (Also we do not sell cheese sandwiches on our counter)
We are very used to dealing with all sorts of allergies, and can cater to close to anything imaginable. I do hope this helps.

My 2 year old LOVES playtrain, we come here weekly and have done since she was 6 months. All of the staff are very helpful and always on hand when needed.

We came across Playtrain on Instagram a couple of weeks ago, so thought we would give it a go.
We live 45 minutes away and it did not disappoint!
The kids loved it, staff are great and so friendly, and the food is brilliant!
The cleanliness is great, not like other soft plays we have visited.
We can’t wait to be back next week!

It is a shame that such a lovely venue is let down by the rudeness, and lack of hospitality by staff. I attended a party here, as a guest and felt that the paying parent was let down by the lack of help and strict rules enforced by staff after such alot of money is payed for the experience.
For example:- parent was told the children must eat before they play ( when is this ever considered at a party, eating before leaping around a play centre?) With this , no structure or leadership was enforced, so no organisation of the party was directed from the staff.
Upon leaving staff are extreme in their approach to ensuring everyone is out promptly, with no understanding that cake/presents/party attire has to be gathered and removed after children have left, they are literally waiting at the gate tapping their feet continually reminding attendees, and suddenly appear to enforce this rule instead of helping to organise a swift exit.
As someone who works with children and have my own, such a great place is wasted on poor organisation and structure to the parties. A little structure, courtesy, and kindness goes a long way.

Really high quality milkshakes/coffees and most of them are fairly priced and staffs are kind enough in treating us on our tables-best place to visit with little ones-had a nice time over new year celebration

Well, my kids enjoyed it, which was the main thing! The reason I didn't give it more stars was for a few reasons. Firstly, you can only book a slot for 1.5 hours, and lunch has to be had within that time slot, meaning less time for playing. So we had to forego lunch there. Secondly, it was freezing cold, with fans on, even though it was cold outside. This is ok if you are a kid running around, but as an adult, it's too cold! Even with 5 layers on, I was still cold. So that brings me to third gripe, which is they don't take cash. So I couldn't even get a hot drink to warm up. So if we ever go again, I'll remember to bring multiple socks and coats and a credit card, and it should be fine. The place looked clean and tidy. The staff are a bit strict and solemn, in respect of watching the clock and trying to get you out before your time slot is even up. They could do with being a bit more friendly. But that said, it's better run than some of it's competitors, who just let the kids run wild, but where the staff are friendly. So you can't have everything.
