Scholars Punting Cambridge offer traditional chauffeured punting tours of Cambridge. Sit back and relax in one of our traditional handmade punts while your chauffeur guides you on a 45 minute tour covering 2 kilometres. You will glide past seven world famous riverside colleges and nine elegant bridges and learn the fascinating history of the beautiful city of Cambridge. Our punts are designed to be comfortable with cushions and blankets. Private and shared tours are available from our website. All our Chauffeurs are fully trained and we have an emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Highly recommended, my daughter & I had a wonderful tour with Omar , very reasonably priced by Nick at £30 for the two of us(a lot cheaper than the main company who tried to rip us off for the same tour !)

Great hour on the river cam. Really knowledgeable guide, so interesting to hear about the famous colleges and so lovely to see them from the river with the beautiful autumn colours. Great value too, highly recommend 👌

We booked a private trip to celebrate a family birthday and enjoyed a lovely tour of the Cam with our excellent guide Nick who knew all the history of the buildings and colleges. The weather was lovely for October and it was an hour well spent.

Great hour spent on the river with our chauffeur Jack! He did a great job, making the tour very enjoyable & even managed to get our 3 teens engaged! Highly recommend!

What a great way to see the sights of Cambridge. We took a punt with Jake who is a direct descendant of Henry vIII. ;) He was such a fun guide. He took time to explain the sights and provided a lot of humor, not just our tour but to everyone we passed. The whole experience from booking to finishing the tour was a delight. All the staff we met were very friendly.
The sights are stunning as well.

We went on this tour yesterday as a family with 2 kids and this was definitely the highlight of our break. We all had such a good time due to our guide Jack, he was so warm, friendly and very funny. He made sure the tour was fun for both the kids and adults... My teenage daughter was constantly laughing.
The perfect balance between history, facts, fun and laughter. It's a hard job and he did it brilliantly.
We booked directly and they were very reasonable compared to other operators and we were super lucky and ended up having a private tour which was very special.

Booked a shared punting experience. Rain was forecast so attempted to cancel. Advised this was not possible as hadn't chosen the cancel option. Punting in the rain with no shelter is not our idea of fun. So beware.

Although I appreciate it was forecast rain, there was no rain when your tour was due.
Tours do still depart in the rain, but we supply umbrellas & can often move departure times until later in the day if it isn't too busy.

We had a brilliant time on the boat yesterday with jack as our chauffeur he was very knowledgeable about the river and the surroundings. It’s was a lovely experience for my family one that we will be booking again and hopefully having jack as our chauffeur.

A fun hour with friends and a great way to see parts you won’t have access to on foot. recommend going offpeak if you can - the river will be busy anyway but you may end up with a boat to yourselves for the shared price (which is more worth it). Lovely views plus a bit of history, and Jack our punter was a sweetheart - good to chat to and took extra time though his 8th shift of the day! It’s really not as easy as it looks …

Special Thanks to Jack. A great guy who guided us kindly and gently. Had a fantastic tour time with him. He had great knowledge about the place and its history. Came to know about Prince Charles the third and his funny story at the university. 🤣
Jack also answered questions when asked. The tour boat tour lasts for 45 minutes. Once in Cambridge it's a must do activity to know about the place, its history and architecture. 💯 /💯 for the tour. 💯/💯 for Jack. Highly recommended 👌💪
