- Fiona CCambridge, United Kingdom33 contributionsGreat experienceMy husband and I went on one of the one hour experiences. It was great fun , learnt about gins and adding the botanicals. Started to appreciate the different flavours . Lots of alcohol included so don’t plan to drive home. Will definitely use when family visiting.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 4 October 2023
- Laura K8 contributionsGin FridayWe enjoyed our Gin Cocktail mixing class with Jenna- our drink master. She was a top notch host and made the evening lots of fun. The 3 drinks we made were very tasty and easy to make at home. I would highly recommend this tour with Jenna.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 October 2023

- Karen WPortsmouth, United Kingdom5 contributionsGreat way to spend an hour making gin cocktails! We spent a family weekend in Cambridge for graduation and birthday celebrations. Our MIX-IT class kicked off the party on Friday evening, it was well organised and well presented. We all had great fun making our own cocktails and enjoyed the experience. It's good value for money and definitely worth putting on your hit list.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 October 2023
- Nigel GCambridge, United Kingdom1 contributionGin Lab Make-It experienceI was bought the MAKE-IT experience for 2 people as a birthday present. The session, lasting just over an hour, was really informative, fun and interactive. Getting to taste various gins & botanical flavours before designing your own gin recipe - and then drinking it :-) The location is in the middle of Cambridge so you can easily make it a full day out shopping, sightseeing or eating out.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 October 2023
- Liz M1 contributionFun evening of Molecular Cocktail making.Highly recommend the Molecular Cocktail evening. Two hours of mixing cocktails and learning the science behind the drinks and how they taste. The story-telling of the science was excellent, and Helen our host was fabulous. We also got to sample many of the different gins they make, which was very interesting.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 October 2023

An hour long session where we were taught about the history of and process used to make Cambrige Gin and we also sampled a few! I would thoroughly recommend to any gin lover!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 October 2023

Jenna, our Lab Host was absolutely fantastic- great energy and knowledge and the gin was delicious too! They do cocktails to takeaway after the class, which is fab, definitely made the cold and wet weather much more bearable! A must-visit if you're in Cambridge.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 November 2023

Our first Gin tutorial and it was OK but a little rehearsed by out Gin tutor Felicity who was very nice and very knowledgeable. The room was a little noisy and I would have liked to know more about the infusions and how they change the gin taste. It was an hours tasting and didn’t leave a lot of time for questions. The samples after were good and no problem with tasting the different Gins apart from the Ant Gin which understandably had a fee attached to it. Overall a good experience but could have been more fun. We wouldn’t rush back but pleased we experienced the tasting.

As a non gin lover, I bought the experience for my love which he was very pleased with- imagine a child on Christmas morning actually getting a Mr Frosty and that might come near to his excitement. I was going for moral support and I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the experience but happily and unexpectedly I was 100% wrong. I enjoyed it as much if not more than the gin fanatic.
We chose the Make It session which allows you, shockingly enough, to make your own gin. Our guide through this experience was Jesse, a wonderful human with a great sense of fun, knowledge and understanding of his subject knowledge.
When you arrive, you are taken into a lovely, quirky room upstairs and sat in front of what looks like a chemistry set and a welcoming gin and tonic. From that point in you are taught a brief history of gin, what makes it special and how unique the Cambridge Gin Laboratory is - my words not theirs although I doubt they’ll disagree. Your guide, hopefully you’ll get lucky and get Jesse too, will help you to create your own amazing gin. It also coming in the most amazing bottle if you pay extra for it!
It’s a definite must do if you are going to Cambridge!

We booked the Molecular Cocktail Masterclass and wow - what an experience. Our group had sooo much fun, the gin is epic and the entire evening was made by our host, Adam (Dr Bent). He is mind-boggling clever, super knowledgeable in all areas of gin and the process and genuinely passionate about the science and the Gin Lab. Thank you for a fantastic evening. Thoroughly recommend to anyone and is a must book for Gin lovers! Most importantly the Gin Lab was extremely Covid compliant and our group felt very safe and comfortable, from start to finish. Thank you.

Outstanding service from a very knowledgeable and helpful host, Jasmine (AKA Scott). The tasting session was excellent, well thought out and masterfully delivered by Jasmine; keeping all the clients involved and imparting her clearly extensive historical Gin expertise upon everyone, seemless transitions between the informative sections of the tasting experience and the practical elements.
A self made (instructed) Gin and Tonic on arrival and a sampling of 3 additional Gin and Tonics made for a fun experience, whilst everyone attempted to guess the tones and notes within each blind tasting. Again Jasmine was very helpful and guided us to the right answers, (some easier than others)!
Facilities are immaculate and perfect for the experience. Afterwards we were invited to the front of house to sample the Anty Gin and the Ants that are used to make it. A very interesting experience tagged on to an already outstanding afternoon.
Highly recommend to any Gin lovers, and even those who are more Gin-averse, you may learn to love Gin after this tasting!!
If you get Jasmine as your host, strap in for a comic retelling of Gin Street and Beer Lane, a rather macabre story that is brought to life and injected with some much needed humour by Jasmine.

We visited for the Mix it class with Jesse, a fun and informative hour learning a little about gin, how it’s made, it’s history and what goes into the different gins produced. At the same time we made and drank three cocktails, a classic gin and tonic, a martini and a basil smash, all delicious! Jesse was a fun and informative host who clearly knows his stuff whilst providing an entertaining presentation. As it’s name suggests the gin lab has a theme and the class is held in a “laboratory” themed room with measuring vessels including beakers and test tubes an interesting twist on the science of mixology. Our evening session was a great way to make and enjoy pre-dinner drinks.

My boyfriend and I attended the ‘Make It’ gin class on Friday and we had the best experience. Jamie was a wonderful host who was genuinely enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable about the gin which added to the overall experience. Such great value for money and I would definitely recommend this to people visiting Cambridge, date nights or gin enthusiasts! I will definitely be recommending this class to all my family and friends. Thank you so much Cambridge Gin team x

We attended a gin tasting as part of a 40th birthday celebration and it was a brilliant experience. The session was hosted by Alexa, who was knowledgable, funny and taught us some interesting facts about the production and history of Gin. We sampled plenty of fabulous Cambridge gins so was worth every penny we paid for the session. If you like gin I would highly recommend this experience!

This experience was bought for me as a gift for my birthday. My friend and I arrived, we’re welcomed warmly and shown into the back room which was set up as a lab. We were part of a group of 9 (who were all very friendly) and our host was an Italian guy (sorry can’t remember his name…but he was young and handsome). We were in a mixology class where we learned how to make three gin cocktails and I have to say that I learned loads about the correct way to make a gin drink to get the best flavour; it was great fun and of course we got to drink all the gin! So… handsome host, fun, laughter and gin…what’s not to like? I don’t know the cost as it was a gift, but would absolutely recommend this venue as something different and enjoyable to do.

Dr Jon was knowledgeable and entertaining with the added benefit of multiple gin cocktails.
He explained how, by understanding how to manipulate the flavour by adding more or less of certain ingredients to can make your perfect cocktail. My favourite part was making cranberry spherifications to go with my brambles cocktail
Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the Molecular experience and we expect to return to try other experiences and gins!

Lovely evening, friendly presenter. A combination of mixology, drinking and chemistry made it fun and educational, and we left happily tipsy. If I had to criticize, the lab is quite small and a little cramped, but that also lent an air of intimacy on proceedings. Recommended. Though of course they do try to encourage purchase at the end and their gins are not cheap (though they are good).

Hi, we’re visiting/staying in Cambridge today 8 Aug (Wife’s birthday). Just looking online for things to do. Saw your Gin lab and thought that’s right up her street! Unsurprisingly at this late stage your fully booked.
Is there anything for the unbooked on offer there? Or any cancellations?
Best regards
Stewart
