Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked this tour for me and my two teenage sons. Our guide Jo has shown us around while telling us Cambridge's rich history and all the lovely stories. Stories of the naughty Climbers' Club boys are hilarious. Standing in front of the old physics lab (though no longer in use) while listening to the milestones and achievements is also very inspiring.
We went on a Friday, when unfortunately most of the colleges were not open to tourists, but we got to visit the chapel at King's College. It is stunning. Don't miss it.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in history of Cambridge and its fascinating stories.

Great to meet you all. I am so pleased you enjoyed the tour. Unfortunately the day you visited was a university open day and many of the colleges were closed to visitors. The colleges are usually open so I hope you might come back one day and we can explore more of the city together. Jo

This was an outstanding experience in that our guide Lizzie Griggs was extremely well versed in the history and made our tour extremely interesting.
She imparted her knowledge in a very user-friendly way and certainly knew her way around.
I enjoyed myself so much given the perfect weather and lovely group of girls that we lost track of time.
I cannot recommend Lizzie more highly and it has quite made the start of Autumn. I can't wait to go again and learn more about the wonderful city of Cambridge having lived for thirty years in Oxford!

A gentle walk around some university buildings in the city centre with Jo is well worth the time as she has so much knowledge to impart. Two hours passed and it was like a time-warp: never a moment when we weren't in thrall of Jo's knowledge as her infectious enthusiasm and fondness for Cambridge shone through.

Jo is a friendly, thoughtful and very knowledgeable guide. She explained to us the historical context of King’s College Chapel in an effortless and appealing way, pointing out details that made us appreciate the conflicts and contradictions in society over the period it was built. Look out in the stained glass windows for the red-haired Henry VIII - suddenly he is everywhere! Even if you are a Cambridge resident, as I am, and think you know the basic history, a tour with Jo adds all kinds of fascinating detail to the landscape. It made me see this beautiful city with fresh eyes.

Dick gave us a wonderful tour, explaining each of the colleges that make up the university, weaving in the history plus a few stories that may (or may not) be true! Even with the restrictions that Covid has forced upon us, we felt like we saw a lot, and it was all outdoors, so felt very safe.

Thank you for your review, I am really pleased you enjoyed the tour and I managed to mix in some history with fun! We never know with some stories if they are true or not but they are good stories!

I chose to use Cambridge on foot to explore Cambridge and its colleges with girlfriends for my 50th Birthday and it was such fun. Lizzie was Fantastic and taylor made it for me to include spring gardens. I was born in Cambridgeshire but had not visited the colleges since a child and it made my day! I will use Lizzie and Cambridge on foot when friends who don’t know Cambridge come to stay in future. Huge Thank-you Lizzie, you were fantastic.

We really enjoyed our morning in Cambridge with Lizzie - she engaged an initially rather reluctant teenager and made the tour interesting and very informative for the whole family. Lizzie was well informed and really good company and I felt she caed we all enjoyed our time together. A great tour!
