Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sophie gave a superb tour, so interesting and a great storyteller. Sophie really brought alive the amazing history of Cambridge and was very skilled at tailoring the tour for the group - would highly recommend.

An excellent tour of a lesser known part of Cambridge with a brilliant guide. Visitors don't normally think to visit this area but it is well worth it.

We met Sophie for the 'Spies Tour' and expected to hear all about Blunt, Burgess, Philby and Maclean but were happily surprised to be taken back in time many centuries to a whole other world of spies throughout the history of Cambridge as a place of learning. It was fascinating to listen to Sophie as she took us to so many different places, colleges, chapels, pubs and hotels - the haunts of spies of old and those heard of more recently. Sophie was charming, engaging with us all, and so knowledgeable. Her delivery with a bit of theatre was very entertaining. We would happily book for another of her tours when back in Cambridge.

Sophie prepared a special tour for Sudbury u3a Architecture Group around the Kite and Mill Road areas to the North east of the centre. In walking terms we covered a small area but the depth of history, architecture and social comment was remarkable. These are areas of modest housing and small, often independent shops. Do not expect the grand college buildings and churches on this tour but you will hear about the influence of the colleges over time and the difficult lives of those who lived on the edge of that male, privileged world and of women who did so much and have not always been recognised (surprise!). The name Maid's Causeway means something very different to me now. We enjoyed the variety and intricacy both in buildings and in people's stories. Our tour was an all day one with a break for lunch in the Grafton/Burleigh Street area. If you are tired of the tourist haunts then this is a tour for you. There will be sad stories and there will be laughs.

Sophie was such an engaging storyteller - so knowledgeable about the history of Cambridge and I loved the spies theme! She was careful to make sure we weren't blocking any traffic and had a great sense of humor in all her tales. Would definitely recommend.

Sophie provided another high quality tour of the city for the new cohort of Cambridge's trainee geography teachers. Her in-depth knowledge of people and place, twinned with her personable approach and ability to tailor her tours to her audience, provided a warm, welcoming and enlightening introduction to our amazing city. I thoroughly recommend Sophie as your guide to Cambridge.
