About
We love Cambridge, and believe that the best way to experience it is on foot with a guide who appreciates its treasures. We’ve been leading our acclaimed Round Church guided walks for over 25 years, and work with a dedicated team of local guides to bring you a small-group walking experience which is personal, engaging and unforgettable. Our approach is a little different from a standard tourist tour: we believe that ideas matter, and focus on how a small number of big ideas have shaped the university over eight eventful centuries. Join us on a walk to see just how much Cambridge’s story of saints, sinners, sceptics, and scholars has to say to us today. We run public walking tours of the University of Cambridge several times a week and also offer private tours (more information can be found on our website). Tours depart from the Round Church and tickets include the opportunity to view the exhibition and film there.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bobby A. led us through the city centre for a bit longer than two hours. The history of Cambridge and its motivations from the perspective of influence of Christianity was of the highest interest. Our guide was obviously a very intelligent cultivated man, whose passion for history made a difference! Definitely worth taking the tour.

We were lucky to have Joshua, our tour guide, to ourselves on January 3. He gave us very good insight into the Roman history of the city and the evolution of the various colleges. We were able to enter a few colleges that we had only walked by before. Recommended.

We had an amazing time with our extremely knowledgeable guide, Ian. We focussed on the impact of Cambridge on the Reformation and vice versa. Really went above and beyond the call of duty for our visitors from Mississippi. Thank you, Ian!

5 STAR - JOB WELL DONE! This 90 minute walking tour gives a Christian perspective on Cambridge and the Protestant Reformation. I'd love to see it offered more than once a week. At present it is only available Wednesdays at 11AM, but call ahead and find out. Martin was our guide and job well done!

I took this tour last Sunday and it was fabulous. The guide had gone to school in Cambridge and he was very well informed and enthusiastic.

I did notice that he seemed to mention religion a lot which I thought was unusual on a tour . Later on, when I removed my tour sticker, I realized it said "Christian Heritage Tours." I guess that would explain it, LOL! Even though I am quite against religion, I did not find that aspect of the tour annoying, in fact it was very interesting to hear the views of such an obviously intelligent and educated man.
I loved seeing all the sites and hearing about all the famous people such as Francis Bacon and Sir Isaac Newton. We also got to go into two colleges and two chapels! It was a great value at only 8£.

We are a family of five with three teenagers and the visit would had been lousy if it would not have been for this tour. If you really want to immerse yourself and learn about Cambridge's colleges and interesting facts about intellectual celebrities that studied there such as Francis Bacon, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton and C. S. Lewis this is the way to go. Make sure you go with Ian Cooper because he was the one who truly made the difference. He knows all the interesting things you want to know and explains them very passionately. He is a volunteer and it shows. Also, he wouldn't accept the fully deserved tip we wanted to give him at the end of the hour long tour. Please so not go to Cambridge and skip this opportunity of making your visit unforgettable. As a twenty-year old, I loved it.

While this is a christian tour, we found it to be evenhanded and respectful. The guide focused on the history and locations. My wife and I did this tour and found it to be one of the highlights of our trip to England. Our guide was knowledgeable and was able to convey an incredible amount of information. We visited a number of colleges. Very very thankful we took a friends advice to do this tour. in particular, our guide Martin was most wonderful. We have told so many of our friends back home about this trip.

My husband and I took this tour on a Saturday and thought it was outstanding. Our guide was engaging and knowledgable and took us to all the important sites to do with the Protestant Reformation in Cambridge. Highlights included seeing Magdalene College where C.S. Lewis lived and lectured, hearing about Wilberforce and the Clapham sect, and how they influenced the abolition of slavery, and seeing Isaac Newton's room (from the outside) at Trinity College. This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Cambridge.

90 minute walking tour of Cambridge gives a Christain perspective on Cambridge, the historical people associated with Cambridge, and the Protestant Reformation. It was much more than I expected and I highly recommend it! Our tour guide, Peter, was insightful, well prepared, knowledgeable, funny, and open to all questions. We were able to enter many of the churches/colleges we hadn't visited yet. Arrive early to the Round Church as they have a display that helps explain some of the history, and there's a short video as well. I wish there was a 3-hour tour.
