Edward I built a stone castle on this hill, which later fell into disrepair, and later restored by Oliver Cromwells forces during the English Civil War in 1642.

As the title says: But sometimes is full of people or weed smokers. Nothing to be worried about just be careful when it's lots of people. P.S - You can take nice photos from the hill and awesome panoramas.

It surprises me that people seem to be annoyed that Castle Hill is just a hill and that's it. Yes, it's a hill, but with a bit of local knowledge and some imagination it's more than that. You can stand on top of it and...More

It's the highest point in Cambridge and the site of the Norman castle. You get good views of the city. But it is just a mound.

We walked all the way up Castle Hill to get to Castle Mound. Should have done a bit of research on trip advisor first. Good views of Cambridge, it is a historical site but not the site I thought it would be. I wouldn't go...More

Interesting landmark ,easily acsessed and worth investigating.just on the outskirts of town only takes 10minutes to walk there from the centre or at weekend you can park right next to it in the pay and display.

It's a very small hill with nothing on the top. Not even a bench. The vie from the hill is nice but not breathtaking. The history behind the hill is the most exciting bit for me and I'm not a big fan of history.

In all my years of studying at, living in and visiting Cambridge I have never strolled up the mound. It is only a stone's throw from the road that leads out of Cambridge via Bridge Street and Huntingdon Road. On Sunday I was returning from...More
