Very large collection of fossil moulds if I understand correctly. Extremely informative, the information is almost overwhelming. Non the less, it's free so go have a look if your around. Wish there was a cloakroom.

Very large and thorough collection of all types of fossils. Labelling did not always make it clear to the non-expert what was on display; old-fashioned display style museum.

Endless cases of fossils with faded hand-written labels. Wonderful! I hope this museum can stay open and free forever.

We enjoyed the visit. Many exhibits and rich in information. So intense - I found it difficult after a while. It is probably the most dense museum in terms of number of exposits per square metre. If you are willing you can easily spend several...More

This museum is not that well sign-posted and we came across it by chance, having just come out of the Museum of Anthropology. What a find! It has literally dozens and dozens of rocks, gems, fossils and skeletons, and there are several well-written explanatory boards....More

To give my seven year old son credit, he was fascinated by the Sedgwick and wants to visit again. And the other children there seemed to be interested too. It's not the most modern of museums - there are limited interactive elements, and the Beagle...More

I went into the museum expecting to find more about Darwin, although I should have realized that a museum devoted to Adam Sedgwick, one of Darwin's mentors, would have been all about geology. And in fact, the section devoted to Darwin is about Darwin the...More

Darwin. Sedgwick. Fossils. Gemstones. This museum is a must see. Think original material on which the Natural History Museum in New York takes its cues. Tons of local geology. Great Darwin exhibits. Very enjoyable and interesting.
