Expensive - £7 - and you can see as much visiting other colleges - all courtyards similar and if you have seen a few that will probably do you. The bridge of sighs though not to be missed but this can be seen from a punting tour or a walk up the backs.

My brother was up here doing a first degree in 1977 whilst I was doing an M.Phil, so I used to visit him in John's. He must have had one of the best rooms in John's, overlooking the Bridge of Sighs. It was classically Cambridge, with a double set of doors on the first floor. I went in, for the... More

Visited on a Sunday and there was a service going on in the chapel. The choir were singing and were lovely to listen to. After the chapel you follow the visitor's guide around this University before arriving at The Bridge Of Sighs. There exit is a fairly long walk so we went back the way we came and left by... More

A typical English day , the college is magnificent and we got to see the bridge of sighs close up. The grounds are beautiful and a must to visit.

A walk through history, where you'll have a chance to see the famous Bridge of Sighs. We were given and informative booklet/map at the entrance, which was very helpful. Most of the tour is outdoors, so be prepared if it is raining. A must visit when in Cambridge.

St John's College is one of the oldest and largest colleges in Cambridge. Former students include famous business and political leaders, as well as renowned scientists and artists. It's an inspiring place to study, or even just to visit. St John's is an impressive venue for conferences, corporate events, private dinners and weddings. You can go to chapel and café... More

A lovely walk through the courts, a quick look into the chapel, over the bridge and into the beautiful garden. Best view of the Bridge of Sighs, and one of the best of the river. If you only visit one College in Cambridge this is the best choice.

A very special place to visit. The small booklet provided is informative for each location. Once through into the rear of the college you cross a bridge over the river Cam. The exit via the back gate would leave you a long walk back, so just walk back directly through the courtyards back to the front entrance gate is possible.... More
