I had the best time and would highly recommend Roots Travel & Tours to anyone. It was much nicer to have a small bus tour and Matt was knowledgeable, friendly and the tours are so well organised. I was lucky enough to go on the Windsor and Oxford trip and Bath and Stonehenge. Unfortunately, I missed out on the York tour but I know it would have been fantastic too. The walking tours were great and it was a good mix of walking tour and have time to spend on your own walking around.

We had the good fortune to experience two tours: (1) Bath and Stonehenge, and (2) Stratford-upon-Avon and The Cotswolds. Matt is a seasoned guide with a wealth of information and an enormously engaging delivery! As a native of The Cotswolds, he was especially adept at creating a more personal journey through several villages (that will never be on the “big bus” tour itineraries). We travelled in a comfortable 16 - passenger van to each destination, with coffee/restroom stops along the way. A Roots tour will surely be one of the highlights of your visit to England!

The tour of the beautiful and historically rich Stonehenge and the Mediterranean-style city of Bath was a delight. I learned more about England and its historic monuments on this tour than any other tour I have taken while traveling England. Matt was extremely knowledgeable, personal, and humorous, making the trip all the more enjoyable. He was very patient, allowing a 10 minute waiting period before the group set off, which was much appreciated by my family, who were running a tad late. On the way back from the tours, a passenger began asking Matt a couple of questions about his line of work, which soon developed into a conversation ranging from the economic and political state of Britain sports! Regarding the information that Matt provided, I learned so much and now appreciate Stonehenge specifically much more. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with even an inkling of interest in history and culture - it will be worth it!

I had such a wonderful time with our tour guide Matt, who is also the founder. Matt is the only tour guide, and he was extremely helpful and lovely. The views were exquisite, but most of all, Matt was engaging and knowledgable. The sites and tour were so fascinating. He struck up conversations with ease if you wished. He was very reasonable and funny, and his plan for the day left nothing to be desired. This was honestly the best tour I've ever been on.

Just returned from a wonderful day with Matt to Stonehenge and Bath. The trip was extremely well planned and he was a great driver and guide throughout. Highly recommend this tour and company.

I just returned from England yesterday and I have to say that the highlight of my visit was my Roots Tour to Stonehenge and Bath with Matt as our tour guide. Matt was extremely informative and entertaining. I appreciated his expert (and smooth) driving skills and, since I am hard-of-hearing, I appreciated his booming voice!
My friend and I were in a bus with American college students and one Italian lady and he made sure all of us were safe and having fun. Looking forward to our next tour!

Matt is a great guide - friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. His insight gave more context to the places I visited. Did the Brighton and Beachy Head tour. Brighton Pier was personally not my cup of tea, as it was kitschy and touristy. The views along Beachy Head were stunning, though not for those with fear of heights

This was a great tour that we all enjoyed (4 adults). This tour is ideal if you want to see each destination for 1-2 hours. I recommend booking entrance to the Roman baths early if you actually want to go in (depending on the time of the year). Matt is exceptional and very knowledgable about the history of England, Stonehenge, and Bath. I highly recommend this tour

Sorry, we only have a tour to Stonehenge & Avebury while you are here in Cambridge - the tour is on 17 June. Our Bath & Stonehenge tours near that time are on 10 & 24 June. I am sorry we cannot be of any greater help.

Hi, 19 June is a Monday not a Saturday so we don't have any tours that day I'm afraid. We have a tour to Stonehenge & Avebury on Saturday 17 June if that is of interest? I hope you can join us.

Any feedback on Bath and Stonehenge vs. York tours offered by Roots Travel? Would have loved to do both but am only in Cambridge over the weekend.

Hi,
I'm afraid our monthly York tour was held last weekend so the next tour is not until 17 July. This weekend's Stonehenge tour is to Stonehenge and Avebury and not to Bath, but unfortunately the tour is already fully booked. The next available Bath & Stonehenge tour is on Wednesday of next week, 22 June although it appears you won't be able to join us.
I'm very sorry we are unable to provide you with the tours of your choice but many thanks for getting in contact.
