We hired Jackie for a 6 hour private tour of Guernsey. We were very happy with this decision and it was our favourite day during our stay in Guernsey.
If you are visiting Guernsey for the first time like we were, you are going to be wondering how you will get about to see the island. Hiring Jackie for a 6 hour tour made a lot of sense to us. The first consideration is of course cost. We felt Jackie's prices were fair and we were happy with the cost.
By using Jackie as our guide it meant that in 6 hours we covered a lot of the island, which we simply wouldn't have achieved if bussing about during that time. Nor would we have got to some of the places we wished to see if using buses. Not to mention travelling around in Jackie's Land Rover Discovery is a lot nicer. It has a full sunroof on top, which made the pleasant drive feel quite "open", which was nice.
As for the tour itself, Jackie is an accredited guide who made sure to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see. It was full of interesting, expert local knowledge. All of our party enjoyed the day, we saw a lot.
Above all else, Jackie is a lovely person, with good people skills and good company. All of our party recommend Jackie and her 6 hour tour.

We had the pleasure of having Jackie as our tour guide for our week long trip to Guernsey back in July. Jackie was an amazing tour guide with a fountain of knowledge regarding all the amazing things that Guernsey has to offer, from history to beautiful sights to its cuisine. She also utilized visual aids such as laminated pictures that show the progression of Guernsey from war time to modern day. She was extremely charismatic, attentive and she was always happy to answer any questions we might have. Everything was very well planned which gave us the opportunity to see the most of both Guernsey and Sark. Our day trip on Sark was also guided by Jackie. She made sure that we had a reservation for the bikes to ride around the island on. She also showed us a perfect mixture of sightseeing and history, which made the trip very worthwhile. Jackie also has her own vehicle in Guernsey which makes traveling from one spot to the next very easy. I would recommend Jackie’s service to anyone who is thinking about visiting Guernsey and would love to have her as our tour guide again when we come back in the future. Thank you Jackie!

I watched a Zoom tour of Guernsey. It was so well done and well organized. Jackie seamlessly weaved fascinating history of Guernsey in with beautiful photographs and videos. Her presentation style is clear and compelling. I can't wait to visit Guernsey when the pandemic is over and go on an in-person tour!

The term “tour guide” can have many connotations. We have had tour guides on a bus trip around the Golden Triangle in Iceland, on a tour of the Eiffel Tower, at the Colosseum in Rome, and in Edinburgh.
Jackie Ward is also a tour guide, but she is in a league of her own. Her Bailiwick of Guernsey — and the surrounding islands of Sark, Alderney, and Herm — are her home, having been born and raised in Guernsey.
Jackie brings to her craft an immense knowledge of her islands and a passion for conveying that love to her customers. She consistently strives to expand her knowledge and learn new things about the islands. Her great smile and bubbly personality are infectious.
Our day on Sark was picture perfect, and Jackie walked us all around the island, sharing stores and history and stopping for a lovely lunch. Guernsey was a whirlwind of walking and driving from coast to coast, and we look forward to seeing Alderney and Herm on a future visit.
If you are lucky enough to book one of Jackie’s tours, you can be assured of an unforgettable experience.

I was on Jackie’s Waking the Dead tour this afternoon and it was very interesting.
It started right in the heart of St Peter Port overlooking the beautiful harbour. The tour was mostly centred around the cemeteries close to the town centre. So many of the interesting characters buried in these graveyards were brought back to life for us by Jackie.
Towards the end of the walk we were approaching Les Cotils with great views over the other islands when we spotted a parked car with its boot open. It was Jackie’s husband with treats for us. Homemade Guernsey gâche and locally made cider were very welcome.
It was a very interesting tour made special by Jackie.
I certainly recommend her tours to everyone!

We recently did a tour with Jackie while on a British Isles cruise. Guernsey was our first stop and Jackie was a wonderful guide. She really took time in our communications prior to our cruise to discover what we wanted to see. We were very interested in the WWII and German Occupation history, as well as seeing the beauty of the island. She met us promptly at the ship as we exited and we joined her in her comfortable car for a lovely day of touring all around the island to see the bunkers, cemetery, historic chapel, as well as other historical sites and amazing scenery. We got out of the car and did a lot of walking as well to really get up close and personal with several locations. She shared a wealth of knowledge and insight about Guernsey and I felt at the end of the day like I had really learned so much and seen so much more than I could have anticipated in one short port day. And then, on top of everything, shortly after we returned to the ship, Jackie called to say she had discovered an envelope we left behind in the back seat with all of our pounds and euros for our trip. She raced back to the ship just in time to get it to a crew member who made sure it was returned to us that evening. I was so grateful!! She is a pro tour guide, a lovely person and will make sure your time in Guernsey is memorable!

We are locals and a tour with Jackie was an amazing discovery of our own island. The tour was designed around what we were interested in and the amount of research and knowledge that Jackie had was amazing. On the worst weather day in Guernsey yet this August, she catered the tour perfectly to 3 adults (one who couldn't walk far) and a teenager. Would highly recommend!

We booked Jackie Ward for a St Peter Port walking tour and let her know we were interested in learning a bit more about our family history on Guernsey. Even before we arrived Jackie started to email us family information and photos. Communication with Jackie was terrific before during and after our tour. She is indeed a Guernsey history and genealogy expert. She led us on a tour of St Peter Port that was well planned showing us numerous family sites of interest. She also introduced us to a distant cousin that happened to be working in his shop in town. Jackie is very personable and kind and took a sincere interest in our family history. We knew for sure Jackie was a perfect choice for us when on more than one occasion after stopping to talk with folks they told us “Jackie is the best guide on the island”. We couldn’t agree more!

03/29/2021: Jackie Ward took a group of us on a very enjoyable virtual tour of Guernsey and the surrounding islands. Excellent photography and historical information, reminding me that history happens in all places. I am a lover of history and this was exactly the kind of tour, unfortunately only virtual, that I enjoy. Hopefully, one day I will be able to do it in person.

Jackie's Sense of Humor made this tour even more fun.
It was so interesting hearing about all the famous good & bad buried in our cemeteries. Jackie has a vast knowledge of local information and it has made me want to go on another one now.
We were a group of 10/12 on a works social evening and all thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would definitely recommend Jackie on any of her tours.

Looking for a tour to last around 3 hours - St Peter Port 12th century Castle Cornet> Little Chapel> Pleinmont cliffs> Guernsey Pearl - something like this but can look at other suggestions.
