Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well worth a trip up the tower to take in the gorgeous views of the sea and surrounding area. The key is easy to collect and it’s a great add on to any visit to the museum and gardens

A great tower to visit. Amazing views to the East over St Peter Port harbour and the islands of Herm and Sark . Just collect the key from he museum round the corner in the gardens. It’s free. Steep circular staircase and wooden final flight. 73 steps to the viewing gallery. Just take it carefully up and down. Easy to find and well worth the effort!

Built in mid nineteenth century to commemorate the visit of Queen Victoria, this tower inside has a narrow spiral staircase leading up to the viewing platform,99 stairs in total,a few pausing floors to get your breath back but once you make it to the top,the 360 degree views are spectacular!
You are able to see the whole Island from this vantage point!
You obtain the key for free entry from the museum in Candie Gardens over the road, but be warned, you only get 30 minutes viewing time in total till you have to return it!
Well worth the race with time!

Lots of steps up a spiral staircase but the reward of some fine views back over St Peter Port when you make it to the viewing gallery.
Key is obtained from the ticket desk in the Guernsey museum after signing the lengthy rules sheet.
If you want to add a sense of adventure to your climb you could always do it in the dark as we did as, despite “please make sure you turn off the light switch “ is one of the many rules, we completely missed the switch to the right of the staircase.

Amazing views even in the winds. A great way to see all the island in one visit. Also interesting history to learn about. The walk up is pretty steep, so not for those who have mobility issues.

Did this on out last day in Guernsey, it was recommended by a guide on the Castle Cornet. He said that you needed to go to the Guernsey Museum in the Candie Garden and ask for the key to go up it ! Thought he was joking but we decided to give it a go !

It was such a surreal experience, you need to give you name and phone number and sign for it and that's it ! they give you the key.

Few things to note, no large groups and max stay is 15-30mins I think not sure you might need to check. We stayed for 10 mins :)
You also have to lock the door behind you on the way in.

Head up the stone spiral staircase and you reach the first floor and keeps going the second level was closed off.

The spiral staircase ends and theres a wooden staircase that goes the rest of the way, not very high but if you're not into heights could be a bit scary.

Views from the top were fantastic the Port looks incredible we had clear blue skies the view were stunning.

Headed back down locked the door, such a surreal experience.
We did it first thing in the morning, dont know how popular it is but there were people asking about as we were leaving to go up.

The Tower is unusual, built by subscription( old fashioned crowd funding!). Amazing 360’ views of Guernsey and nearby Channel Islands. You might even see France on a clear day.
There is a quiet public park with gardens surrounding the Tower that is being improved by a small local Charity.Only Fools and Donkeys are starting to make a more environmentally friendly garden. Look them up for more details.

Amazing place Gurnsey. People are friendly and trusting. The tower is an example of this. You have to sign out this huge key and you scribble down your name and phone number!! That’s it! Very well kept and stunning views across at Peter Port and the sea. Just remember to turn the lights off and lock up when you’ve been!!
