A short break in November with predicted bad weather didn't stop us having a great time. Checking out the available excursions I was dismayed to find that most of the "tourist attractions" had closed for the season. Also the companies offering island tours had all finished... except one! Some quick correspondence with Bay Tours confirmed our booking for what turned out to be the last tour for them of the season.
Our guide, fellow scot Eddie, gave us a fantastic running commentary of the sights around the island. There was a lot of storm damage to property and many trees down around the island from the previous weeks storm but we were able to see all the sights on our trip. Eddie has lived in Jersey for a long time and his passion and local knowledge shone through. There were many anecdotes and stories of famous residents past and present as we travelled past houses where rich and famous had once lived. We had some comfort stops and photo opportunities along the way before stopping at a 17th century inn for lunch.
For me, this was the only downside to our whole day tour. I found "Les Fontaines Tavern" cold, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Arriving in the dining area I went to sit down. "Oh, you're the coach party, you can't sit there. You have to sit next door!" said the surly waitress. We were then herded onto a row of tables like schoolchildren. Perhaps next season Bay Tours will review where they take their custom but it might just have been my personal experience. The soup that I had was very nice so no complaints about the food. Our driver explained that one of the main problems at this time of year is that not many places that serve food in the outlying areas are open for business and most don't like to accept coach parties either (even a fairly small minibus).
I'd give Bay Tours 10 out of 10 for making the most of our day trip. The predicted downpour didn't happen and most of our trip remained dry allowing us to walk around at the various stops. Eddie is a real credit with a mine of information and an easy going manor. The transport was comfortable and our driver negotiated the small backroads with ease. Highly recommended!

Second time for me doing the Island Tour with Eddie as driver and tour guide (at different times of the year) and second time was just as fabulous as the first. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This was an excellent tour, very informative and stopped in some great places. Our guide, Eddie, provided great commentary and plenty of humour during the tour.

Eddy picked us up on time from the Best Western Royal in St Helier and was a very warm, friendly and informative guide for the day. Comfortable and clean mini bus and Eddy is a very calm driver.
A mixture of personal insights into the island and historic facts during the day.
Lunch at 12.15pm was a little early but it was explained what the alternatives were and the reason for choosing the lovely country pub and the timings. It is difficult to find an accommodating eatery when the guests are on a tight timetable.
The stop at St Catherine’s, and a visit to Simon the Sand Wizard (former world and masters champion at sand sculpturing), was a real bonus.
We were blessed with glorious weather for late October and saw the whole island in sunshine which made it even better.
I would definitely recommend this tour as one not to be missed.

Great tour with the driver being very good at keeping us informed. What really let it down was the dinner stop. We went to an out of way place miles from anywhere with this single pub for an hour. Real waste of time. So disappointed as we had seen so many little villages in the coast we could have stopped at we arrived at 11.45am so we could have moved to a village on the coast.

Excellent day tour around the beautiful island of Jersey. Very informative commentary from our guide, and driver, Eddie. A great way to get ideas of places to visit later at a your own pace. Plenty of stops for refreshments and comfort breaks. Would highly recommend Bay Tours.

Excellent tour with Vincent, our driver, on excellent form. Very knowledgeable on the history of the island. A full tour of some lovely locations with plenty of time allocated when stopping at particular tourist attractions and view points. Lovely location for a hearty lunch. Pickup and drop-off at our hotel. Highly recommended for a full day out.

Eddy toured us around the island in a very comfortable bus, taken at a leisurely pace. He was friendly and informative, took questions and was the friendliest operator we’ve had on a tour like this one. Jersey Bus Tours was the right choice among many available

Views and photos points amazing, the churches and island countryside views were beautiful, will be back to take all in again

The mini bus was an ideal size, so all passengers had a good rapport, and kept to time scales. Eddie our driver was a delight, very knowledgeable, friendly and amusing. He answered all questions asked, and took us all around Jersey, showing us some beautiful bays and sights. He made sure there was plenty of watering holes on the way. all in all a very good experience that I'd recommend.
