Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place to spend some time away from the city centre
Enjoy the views on both sides of the river.

Really lovely area to walk around - we can to it by crossing over the suspension bridge and wandered along the river and beyond. Much preferred walking here to the much more advertised Grosevner Park. Tranquil and lovely and only moments from the city centre.

This was our first visit to Chester and we had taken a boat trip down the river and the commentary mentioned about The Meadows so we decided to walk the large loop of parkland afterwards. We went further than the map showed and followed the river for quite a way. Think the whole circuit was about 2.5 miles but it was beautiful and so lovely to have that so close to the city centre.

The place really comes alive on Wednesday in summer, due to the schools skulling and the variety of public craft on the water...throw in the odd please trip.

These meadows are lovely, so natural and unspoilt, across the river from some interesting houses with steep cliffside gardens. Very restful break from the bustle of the city.

Walking over the beautiful suspension bridge that crosses the River Dee is The Meadows ,a lovely green area of Chester that's most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.
Nice footpaths, a popular area with the locals especially in the summer months ,The Meadows offers an oasis of calm in this historic walled city and offers great views of the River Dee.
Most definitely well worth checking out.

Just over the suspension bridge across the Dee towards handbridge, you can enter the meadows. There is a good footpath along the river that leads a couple of miles to Duke's estate at Ecleston and beyond. Its a pleasant place for a walk for Dogs but beware there are grazing animals in some stretches. Also good for running though it can get very waterlogged in winter.

We walked along the river and back through the meadow itself. Good walking surface (obviously the meadow is grass rather than a hard surface) seems to be well used by families and joggers alike. Nice to get out into a more natural environment so close to Chester itself.
