About
A guided walking tour of Chester really is the best way to explore the highlights of the 2000 years of history that have shaped the city we enjoy today. All tours are led by fully qualified Blue and Green Badge Guides. The Chester Tour starts at 10.30am every single day of the year, plus there is an additional tour at 2pm from Easter to end October. Tours generally last for around 1.5 hours, so even if you are only in Chester for a short visit, our experienced Guides can help you make the most of your time in this beautiful city. A variety of private sightseeing tours (by foot and/or by coach) can be booked all year round for groups or individual visitors at a time to suit you. Guides need to be booked in advance

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were the only two who braved the inclement weather and enjoyed the personal tour with Yvonne. She gave us a brilliant insight into the history of Chester. What a lovely lady. Thank you

We did an excellent walk with Gail, and learned a huge amount about 2,000 years of Chester's history in less than 2 hours. Along the way we managed a peep into several hidden nooks and corners that we would never have discovered on our own.

A fantastic description of the history of the city from Isabel (also known as the Edwardian Lady), covering Roman times to recent history with expert local knowledge. Some surprises when you are taken under a well known shop to see Roman remains and you get to look more closely at the things everyone else walks past.

I was very excited to take part in the tour around Chester for ukrainians today. Paul is really great tourist guide. A lot of interesting information, hidden parts of Chester with the incredible history. The time passed with just blink of an eye. Positive and wonderful impressions afterwards. Thank you a lot!

Gayle took us on a wonderful tour of a small part of the wall, but then much more about the buildings, the people who built or owned them, and the histories of both.
She had an amazing capacity to pull together bits and pieces from here and there in history, then weave them together to make for a wonderful story.
Full marks!

Yes there are ghost tours on both evenings at 7.30pm starting from outside the Town Hall on Northgate Street. Buy your tickets in advance online at ghostcity or in person from the Visitor Information Centre.
We also offer The Chester Tour which runs daily at 10.30am (and again at 2pm until end October). For this tour, just buy your tickets direct from the Guide on the day at the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre. Enjoy!

I just turned up at the tourist information around fifteen minutes before the advertised time. The guide was already there and sold me the ticket. Check the website for times
