Very friendly, highly informative and great military information and exhibitions to see.

The museum was in Chester city centre, a 5 minute walk from the Leonardo hotel( a great stay). We took our 5 year old who is war, weapon and medal obsessed and he absolutely loved it! It had a medal room with two Victoria crosses, as wells as hundreds of other medals from previous Chester military service men and women.
There were helmets, shields, guns, military vehicles, dugouts etc...it was great.

We payed £8.00 total, and spent approximately 1 HR 30 minutes. You could spend much longer but our son wanted to see everything, and get to the weapons.

A must see for any other weapon or Military enthusiasts.

A very well informed and polite group of people running the museum. Great!

As often as I can when visiting places I try to visit museums that have a military history and this was no exception, the Cheshire regiment has a fine history and this museum does it proud and is well worth a visit.
Lots of information about its history and postings around the world as well as individual storeys about serving members and their acts of bravery and heroism.

Soldiers from Cheshire have been an important part of the British military for centuries and this small yet informative museum is your gateway to their story. If you have any interest in history do not miss this.

We visited on Saturday and the staff member kindly told us what order to go round the museum

The medals were excellent and I learnt a great deal about the different ranks and learnt about the gentleman who obtained a Victorian cross medal.

Towards the end of the museum with the present Army it was good to see the video with what tasks they do everyday

I would highly recommend coming to this museum for adults and children alike. A great history museum

Really impressive military museum focusing on Cheshire and the Cheshire regiment but also the wider British Army. Huge array of medals and memorabilia including 2 Victoria cross medals. Lots of recent/last 10/20 years exhibits which you don’t always see, very Interesting.

The Cheshire Military Museum is wonderful. I haven’t got a particular affinity to the Cheshire regiments but the way they have set the museum up and the care they take to really tell the stories of real people that fought in all the wars is so educational and so touching! I spent a lot of my time there in tears as I read their stories and letters home. Please visit - it’s so worth it.

A great piece of history. A chance to see actual medals awarded including the victory cross. Plenty for children. And copies of letters home from frontlines.
