The canal covers a wide area so it really depends where you are as to your experience. The canal by the Lock Keeper Pub going out of the city is poorly lit and takes you under the awful concrete flyover. Go in the other direction...More

The noise reduction and beauty of the canals surroundings make for a peaceful experience. Had a busy week of hustle and bustle this is the place to go for a little bit of relaxation and me only time.

We stayed at a hotel very near the canal, on City Road, and walked along the towpath a few times, back and forth into the city centre. Very few photo opportunities and mostly very unattractive surroundings.

A lovely Canal, and a lovely walking area, lovely views of the canal boats, floating by. Well worth a visit, if your in the area. Recommended.
