    Favourite part of Chester
Although a small area the history of the place and the beauty is incredible. The information boards set the scene well so you can imagine just how things were in the past . Allow time to take in all the facts before continuing towards the beautiful river Dee.

Roman ruins in a nice garden
We saw the gardens from the city walk we were walking on. The gardens are nicely laid out and the roman bath house tops it off. To be able to see it in situ made it all so much easier to understand.

Civil war traces on the city wall and Roman ruins.
This garden is very interesting to see history in situ. The traces of the civil war on the wall make you understand this happened really here. This is not only stories. This is history. This is close to amphitheatre and by the city walls.

    Worth a little visit
Whilst in Chester for a couple of days June 2023 myself and my partners were visiting different parts of the city centre and strolled through the Roman gardens. It was lovely to stroll through the really well kept gardens and seeing the bits and pieces from history. Worth a little visit.

Was looking forward to seeing the Roman gardens but disappointed to find out it wasn't original but instead just a collection of findings all placed together

The gardens are small but beautiful. Some roman pillars and part of some roman baths. The mosaics on the floor are pretty. It only take a few minutes to walk through, but you could take a picnic and stay for a while.

This is a small and interesting replica of a Roman garden. All of the relics you see in the garden has been taken from other Roman sites in Chester and placed here. There are information boards dotted around explaining what things are. It's a peaceful place with access to the banks of the river Dee at the far end. It's situated very close to the amphitheatre so you can visit both easily.

Some of the ancient Roman stonework has been moved to the site and gives a good picture of how the gardens appeared. Close to one of the historic gates but also to an abomination of a concrete car part construction completely out of character with the local area and wider city

This place is small but really interesting. It has the remains of the Roman baths which were quite unusual.

Not really much to say it's pretty small, in the middle of chester and free but pretty average. Took us about 5 minutes to get from one end to the other
