Don’t really get out fishing as much as I’d like these days but had the pleasure of 2 visits in a week to Lloyds Meadow. Lovely well kept location which still keeps a very natural feel and look about the place. I fished the Badger lake from late morning to early evening on both occasions and had 2 great days fishing with a decent haul of Bream, Roach and lots of Carp. The highlight being a double figure Mirror Carp. I’ve previously fished the Heron lake which along with kingfisher is unfortunately closed at the moment. I had a good chat with Danny the owner about the 2 lakes being closed and although it’s unfortunate as I would prefer to fish the Heron lake, I totally agreed with his reasons for doing so. There is now a booking system to fish there, and yes the price has gone up a couple of £, but still worth every penny. Well done to all concerned for a great fishing venue.

Visited Lloyds Meadow with my angling friends to fish specifically for Perch. A few small Perch, Carp and Roach between us saved a blank! It was very wet and somewhat muddy however, still a very beautiful and well looked after fishery. Only 4 stars due to the fact that 2 of the waters were closed with no explanation, in particular the one I wanted to fish, Heron Pool which is said to hold Perch to 4lb+. Looking forward to the next trip!
