Always well tended. I need go here on a sunny day as all the days are rainy and the place is mucky. But there is always some artwork here and friendly people about.

Nice to walk around and a good location for a picnic. It’s well maintained and a short stroll from the main shopping centre.

Grosvenor Park is accessed from the river or from the main road close to the amphitheatre. The gardens consist of several formal beds interspersed with open spaces. There's a cafe, a small railway for children, various statues and a viewing point where you can see the river. There are also plenty of benches so if you want to take a packed lunch or buy a sandwich in the town, it's a lovely spot for a peaceful lunch.

A two night stay in Chester over the Christmas period was superb ,on the second day of our trip to this historic Roman walled city my twin brother walked around this park for a while and what a lovely park this is .
Well kept garden area's ,it's quite a big rambling park area, lots of nice paths to follow ,we both really enjoyed our wander around this oasis of calm in the city centre,if you're planning a trip to Chester I highly recommend you seek out Grosvenor Park.

Gifted to the city by Richard Grosvenor, Second Marquis of Westminster, whose statue is in the park, the 20 acres of land overlooking the River Dee, which is now called Grosvenor Park, are a marvelous place just outside Chester's city walls. There are plenty of places to walk (the well maintained paths are both wheelchair and pushchair friendly), different gardens (like the Quarry Garden) and flower beds to admire, and grass on which to picnic. There is also a miniature railway and The Lodge Cafe (which, unfortunately, was closed the day we were there). The Lodge Cafe is a lovely-looking building and is one of the earliest examples of the use of black-and-white architecture. Grosvenor Park is just a lovely place to either wander around or to sit on a bench and watch the wildlife and birdlife Toilet facilities are situated close to The Lodge Cafe.

This is a beautiful well kept park even in October. The squirrels and pigions are extremely tame and will come right up to you. You could easily spend a couple of hours exploring the park and enjoying the scenery.
