Exhibiyions in three rooms

I enjoyed the exhibitions but had expected a bigger art gallery from description. All upstairs with small cafe and shop.

This art gallery has several good quality paintings of the sea and coast off Falmouth. Apparently, the interplay of the light, clouds, sea and shore is rather unique to Falmouth. It only has a few rooms and is a good place to pop in on a rainy day. A rather well stocked art book and gift shop is also on... More

Really family friendly, small gallery. Interesting range of prints and pictures and a lovely warm feel to it.

....and as it wasn't raining I think that we might have made better use of our time. I think I was looking for something that would give me a flavour of Cornwall, and I didn't really get it. There were some nice painting but I didn't find it inspirational as much as the Penlee gallery in Penzance did. You could... More

It seems there are as many art galleries in the West Country as there are charity shops on my high street and after a while you just zone out .... Of the blue yellow watercolours depicting boat and sea scapes. So with that mindset when we wandered into Falmouth we initially dismissed the art gallery - but the need for... More

This is a small gallery and has a lot of focus on maritime subjects which is not surprising seeing as it is located in Falmouth. I enjoyed the visit and as it's free it's an ideal mini attraction for the family especially if you need a gap filler or it's a rainy day. We covered the whole gallery in 45... More

I always visit here because it's full of surprises. Apart from the Lady of Shallot painting by John William Waterhouse there is a mixture of local and traditional art. It's very small with just 2-3 rooms and it's hidden in the library n the middle of town - but it's free. This year they have one of Grayson Perry's murals... More

Not the biggest art gallery. Most of it was a tribute to captain pugwash. Few excellent examples of automaton and some oils with a nautical theme. Glad it was free so shouldn't complain really!

I always call in here when in Falmouth. There's always something interesting to see, very well presented despite no doubt having budgets resembling fresh air. This time it was an exhibition of Captain Pugwash art - really good fun and so nostalgic for the TV series. Well done Falmouth Art Gallery, another winner!
