You could not meet a better, more enthusiastic bunch of surf instructors, they have passed on the surfing bug to the youngsters and not laughed too much when the adults have had a go, you really are in safe hands and will have fun, give it a go.....

This is an excellent surf school! Our group of 7 children, ranging in age from 7-18, had four 2 hour lessons with Pete, Jake, and Graham. Their warm, caring, enthusiastic approach motivated all the kids, most of whom were total beginners. By the end of the week, they were all catching waves, having gone from riding the whitewash to turning on the open face. Each session built upon the previous one and was tailor-made for each child. Pete, Jake, and Graham were great at building all the kids' confidence. Our children are leaving with amazing memories, and we can't recommend this surf school highly enough.

So great to meet you guys and see such a huge level of progression over just a few days! We pride ourselves on our adaptable coaches, who always have a new, different trick up their (wetsuit) sleeves, to ensure everyone can get up and riding, regardless of age or circumstance. Really hope you guys will come back again for more (even though it's a bit colder over here)! :-)

King surf were recommended to me by a friend who had arranged a surprise weekend for her husband a few years back.
As a woman in her prime (that's my forties in case you were wondering) I am doing all things I should have been doing in my teens and early twenties, but was instead pursuing a corporate career and then playing happy families with my then husband and our great children... Anyway I digress.
I have had several private lessons with a few of the amazing surfing instructors... And have travelled most times from the south of Cornwall to the north (over an hour each way) for my lessons (they are well worth the travel time). I personally always try and have a private lesson, just because time is precious and I want to learn as much as I can from the instructors... The other benefit is that they always push me in to the waves (as I paddle like Mr Burns out of The Simpsons when left to my own devices).
I have been back for lessons a few years running and I am made to feel like family returning home.
I can not recommended Kingsurf more highly. Big Tom is amazing (and always remembers my stories). Pete who owns it, is just the nicest and funniest guy and my young children still remember their first lesson with him over three years ago. Alice, who can be found doing all the bookings, is really efficient and bends over backwards to accommodate you. I have in the past also had a lesson with Kieran (brilliant)... Everyone is of a superb standard and I have always felt extremely safe, even when out of my depth in the water and big waves crashing over me.
I can't wait for my next visit and to watch this business grow over the years. Well done guys, you deserve it.

What a great and enjoyable first time experience for my son and I, being tutored by, possibly, the most chilled out, patient bunch of fellas that can actually practice what they preach. I knew it would be a fun time after being handed a wetsuit, by I believe the owner, that looked far too small, for him to say, "You'll get into that alright man, somehow!". £30 each for two and a half hours! PAY IT! Don't be put off by your pre-conceptions of buff surfers, these guys don't judge you. I think that they're stoked to know that people are willing to try. And if you don't giggle to yourself or laugh out loud when struggling to put a wetsuit on for the first time, you're a miserable person!

A fantastic experience, unbeatable fun, beautiful beach, and ultimately the best of holidays. The Kingsurf instructors are top quality in their tuition and engagement with their students. Our 15 year old daughter and 14 year old son made excellent progress as beginners, developing a good degree of confidence in the waves and in their much improved surf skills. Think we parents will sign up for lessons too next summer!

Second time here and even better than the first, it was a quieter week so had the beach and sea to ourselves at times Scuba, Alice, Damo, & Tom we're amazing such good tuition, patience and fun can't recommend highly enough so much so we booked to go back before we left !! Don't even try anywhere else you would be mad mawgan porth n king surf have it all :) 👍👍🏄🏄

Have now been to four different surf schools along the North Cornish Coast and King Surf is by far the best. Excellent instructors and what a great beach to learn on...can't recommend it enough!

Rocked up on a whim to try out surfing, and Kingsurf guys got me hooked straight away and one session quickly turned into 3!
Tom was absolutely brilliant, he worked so hard at getting me up (and was eventually successful, after much pushing and pulling ). Toby got me up more consistently in my second session and Shep was encouraging and gentle.
In all seriousness, couldn't recommend it enough, even when the lessons are busy other instructors will take the time to give you pointers and help you out. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there and it really comes through in the lessons. I will certainly be back. If only to see Pete get into his tight wetsuit.

Thanks so much for your lovely words - the instructors were stoked with the feedback. Super glad you can see how much we love our jobs, especially when you guys get so stoked even in your first lesson. So happy to have you guys back surfing with us this weekend - I think we've got you hooked for life now :)

This is my 2nd surf camp with these guys , did one last year in the winter which was brilliant but this camp I just did was even better such great people , Pete Tom , Alice fantastic good go on forever saying are great they are . Absolutely brilliant time couldn’t recommend them enough.anyone who goes with kingsurf school will not be disappointed . 😀

After spending 3 days with King Surf I had the most unforagottable experience. By the end of the trip I feel my surfing had improved so much all thanks to King Surf. I would recommend this surf school to anyone wanting to check out Cornwall. Plus Pete & Alice who run the school really are amazing people. Thanks again guys. Can't wait to come down again and surf. Hi thinking about coming down to Cornwall in the summer for a week with 17 year old son. He did a bit of surfing out on California last year, 2/3 hour lessons everyday for a week and loved it. Over August presumably you have daily lessons he could join in on? He is keen not to be oldest among younger children, do you have lessons for older teens? do you run open sessions when they can hire the equipment and be loosely supervised in the sea? what are the prices? does it need tobe booked in advance?

Hi Lorna,
Thank you for your message,we have loads of 17 year olds join here at the school. We run 2.5 hour lessons everyday at 10am and 2pm and we split everyone into groups of different abilities on the day. During July and August he would be guaranteed to be joined by others of a similar age. There will be lots of Mums too! If you like you can book in for the first initial lesson and then book further lessons once you are here. We are very relaxed and flexible. All the equipment is included in the price which is:
£30 for one lesson
£55 for two lessons
£75 for three lessons
£90 for four lessons
£105 for five lessons
All you would have to bring with you on the day is done swim wear and a towel.
