My 12 year old son and I had a beginner lesson in the rising tide - Ben was a great coach and got us to the cusp of standing, guiding us through the steps. We’ll be back next year for a few more lessons!

The Kingsurf team took really good care of my two 10 year old beginners. By the end of three lessons, they both felt confident in the water and were really close to standing up, on their own (I think they would have had the weather been less windy). All staff were really engaging, professional, enthusiastic and friendly. You could tell they really loved what they do!

This is my 2nd year coming here, me and my sister did 5 lessons with Pete, Archie, Jake, Ben and Toby and they're all so amazing! They are very detailed and I managed to get some turns in this year!! Highly recommended this surf school for anyone of any age! 🤙🤙

Amazing.
Very friendly teachers. They always give tips on and off the water. Brilliant value for money. It seems impossible to have anything go wrong as the pupil to teacher ratio is very good 1:3.

I had a brilliant lesson with Jake who was full of enthusiasm and gave me some great tips to improve my surfing. He made the lesson fun and accessible for a range of ages and abilities, and he explained things really clearly.

Fantastic surf school. We stayed in Mawgan Porth for a week and booked in for a couple of lessons for myself and my two daughters. We were all complete beginners. The team were brilliant with the children, really lovely and helped them pick up some skills straight away. The instructors were positive and knowledgeable, even taking us on a little cave tour when the water was too flat. A shout out for Will, who managed to successfully teach us all to stand up and surf across ages to 6 to 40! We’ll be back next time!

Incredible surf lesson with Pete, who was energetic, attentive and managed to get both of us novice surfers standing in the choppy November sea. We had a really fun morning, and felt in very safe hands. Pete even gave us lots of brilliant recommendations for the rest of our time in Cornwall. The best part of our trip, without a doubt. Highly recommended, thanks Pete!

Returning to King Surf once again and they STILL manage to exceed expectations.
If you are looking for a fun holiday surf experience, they already surpass that as standard. It would not be an exaggeration to say that surfing with the King Surf team is good for your soul.
The teaching skills and technical abilities of the instructors allows you to advance safely and quickly whilst enjoying every wave and every wipeout.
King Surf are unrivalled at every level.

I wanted to introduce my two children, aged 14 and 9, to surfing as it was a great passion of mine when I was younger. The experience for them could not have been better. I booked a couple of private lessons for just us three and our instructor, Toby, was amazing. He made learning to surf a fun and fearless experience and as a result both kids were surfing from their very first wave. The best thing is it has ignited a love of surfing in all three of us and now we can all catch waves together.

My two boys (12 & 9 years) were very keen on trying out surfing so we descended on Kingsurf for some beginners lessons.
After recovering from a greeting so warm we almost suffered 3rd degree burns (seriously, what a great bunch of people, so friendly & welcoming) our two lads were kitted out with all the gear and headed off to the beach. I watched from afar but it looked great fun, with the boys making good progress throughout the session.
The real joy was to see their beaming smiles & bubbling enthusiasm when they returned. It’s quite difficult to teach kids a new skill at the best of times, but to also instill a sense of passion and fire for something fresh is nigh on impossible, so a big thanks to Amy for making this happen. We will be back.

Hi thinking about coming down to Cornwall in the summer for a week with 17 year old son. He did a bit of surfing out on California last year, 2/3 hour lessons everyday for a week and loved it. Over August presumably you have daily lessons he could join in on? He is keen not to be oldest among younger children, do you have lessons for older teens? do you run open sessions when they can hire the equipment and be loosely supervised in the sea? what are the prices? does it need tobe booked in advance?

Hi Lorna,
Thank you for your message,we have loads of 17 year olds join here at the school. We run 2.5 hour lessons everyday at 10am and 2pm and we split everyone into groups of different abilities on the day. During July and August he would be guaranteed to be joined by others of a similar age. There will be lots of Mums too! If you like you can book in for the first initial lesson and then book further lessons once you are here. We are very relaxed and flexible. All the equipment is included in the price which is:
£30 for one lesson
£55 for two lessons
£75 for three lessons
£90 for four lessons
£105 for five lessons
All you would have to bring with you on the day is done swim wear and a towel.
