A medieval Manor House with past Royal connections, it's small but has a vast local story to tell. Lots of Royal connections. Plenty of info boards narrate the history of the place. The grounds are small but give a flavour of days gone by. The...More

Another beautiful National Trust property. In the gardens there are some "turf mazes" - without hedges but mowed in a pattern. Popular with children. There is a large barn restaurant with food and drink.

This NT property is reach via typical narrow, twisty and hilly Cornish lanes. But it is worth seeking out. Not huge but charming and welcoming with interesting rooms and attractive small gardens. Lovely tea rooms too.

A much smaller National Trust property than we have visited before, but perfectly formed and delightful. The gardens were very interesting with a 'knot' garden and also a vegetable garden. Plenty of areas for children to run around and the tea room was lovely.

The National Trust's page for Trerice says: 'Due to the small nature of the garden at Trerice only assistance dogs are welcome in the house and garden. However there are local dog walks at Holywell and Crantock near Newquay.'

There are buses but only every hour and less on a Sunday. It's a good half hour walk from the bus stop at Kestle Mill and mostly up hill! The 25 runs from St Austell to Newquay and the 90 from Truro to Newquay
