Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very enjoyable first swim this morning after the reopening of the leisure centre. The staff have done an excellent job keeping everyone safe and the time they have spend organising the centre so that the customers have a 1st class experience. Covid safe, helpful staff every step through the centre and clear signage. Perfect 100%, looking forward to my next swim. 👍

The covid-safe procedures and regulations the centre follows are exemplary, changing rooms and the leisure facility as a whole are never crowded and entry to the pool is swift. My Thursday morning swims are always made even better by the lovely Jamie on reception, the young man always makes an effort to speak to myself and other customers and is a credit to the centre. He recently sorted myself and my husbands smartphone app to book the swimming. I look forward to my next swim on Thursday.

Let’s start with reception.
On arrival I told the receptionist we’d booked on the 11:40 session. She pushed 2 wrist bands toward me and pointed to the changing rooms. Could have easily got in without paying.
Family change is chaotic. Several families queuing for about 10 changing rooms and 3 showers.
Scruffy paper signs advising not to use money in the lockers but use tokens instead. I wish I’d seen that before I put my quid in. Or maybe if reception had mentioned it…. Anyway. Into the pool.
Freezing cold water. Rumour has it the penguins from Newquay zoo go in there to cool off when their tank gets above Luke warm.
One of the slides out of order and by the look of it had been for a long time. The area under the slides used as a dumping ground for old cafe furniture and a lifeguard chair that had been dumped and left to rot.
Water cannon broken and a pipe just dangling in the water nearby.
Tippety toppety bucket is neither Tippety nor toppety. Unless either of those words means broken or covered in mould.
Sharp tile edges on pool edge and rusty screws hanging out of the fibreglass at the bottom of the hippo slide.
Didn’t wait for our session to be over. We were that cold and disappointed we left early

Great fun on a rainy day. It’s booked by slots so not too busy. The timeframe was just about perfect; we used everything and the flumes time and time again. We found changing rooms and lockers without issue; you can pay 30p (contactless) for a token to use; you can’t use a coin. Hairdryers available free if charge. Staff were friendly.

Where to start?!
After paying and entering thr changing area it was pure carnage, people everywhere, changing rooms full of items, nothing moved to lockers, just pure chaos, people in all directions.
We managed to find a small empty change room, for me and my 2 small children (one 10 month old and one 5) after getting changed in this space I realised how disgusting it was, hair on the floor, dirt, wet toilet paper...
We reached the pool which was freezing, the pool was again disgusting, sand, mud, dirt, hair.. at the sides of the pool
We spent 20 mins in the pool before getting out, my girls lips were blue. The family change room we were in had used nappies in it...
Never again...
We chose this facility as we could swim with 1 adult to two children, but had I know it would've been like this (for £13) I would've preferred to take my eldest to the other centre.
Avoid, save yourself the chaos, carnage and grime 🤮

This is a nice place to get wet, if your trying to avoid getting wet in the rain!
A nice swimming pool and with a bit of a tropical theme. A few nice features for children of all ages.
Theres a proper toddler suited shallow end, where the youngens can play whilst standing in the water themselves.
A little further on, still in the shallow side of the pool, is a small slide which drops into the water, suited for the young toddlers.
Theres a hard inflatable like structure snake floats in the middle for children to climb on.
Outside of the pool are two slides, one which is aimed at the much older kids and picks up a bit of speed, but good fun.
What was good about the slides was that a young child up to the age of 5, can sit in an adults lap. Helping the children overcome the first time slide fears.
The downside to this place was the water was towards the cooler side. And in two different visits, the second was colder. Which meant we needed to leave sooner due to the young kids we had with us. The first visit was warm enough to spend a few hours in the pool.

Disappointing. The swimming pool is completely run down. Tiles are missing everywhere, the steel railings are rusting noticeably and there are puddles that are completely green from algae growth (e.g. under the slide). The pool is relatively small and you only get a time slot of 80 minutes, which you have to book online in advance. The showers in the women's changing room were cold. You had to pay extra for the locker, and once the coin is in the locker lock, you are not allowed to unlock the locker again, otherwise the coin is gone. Parking also costs extra.
All in all, a lot of money for poor quality.

Freezing cold pool, our baby’s teeth were chattering after a few minutes. Dirty pool, one of the slides not on, have to pay for parking and then pay for a locker. None of this would be that big of an issue if the water wasn’t so cold but it was seriously the coldest indoor pool we’ve ever been in and the changing rooms were freezing too

This swimming pool and changing rooms is absolutely filthy. The dirtiest I have ever been to. There was rubbish and used nappies in the family changing room when we got changed and there's no shoes off rule so there was mud, grass etc. everywhere. The actual swimming pool had what looked like chunks of sick or food in wherever I looked. When u looked down the sides of the flumes or just any corner etc. it was just disgustingly dirty like it had never ever been cleaned. Then we got out and as there were no family changing rooms free I went to take my little one to the female changing room and it was even worse there was sooo much hair on the floor, tissue, just all kind of grosseness. We went back to family changing room and got one but the door didn't lock. It honestly was so disgusting. I am fully expecting us all to contract some kind of sickness or disease in the next few days, I'll keep u posted on that! It genuinely needs closing down, deep cleaned and proper cleaners hired to regularly clean changing rooms and procedures for cleaning the pool areas. Or just literally demolish it and start over it's that filthy. I very politely fedback at the end that the kids had had fun but it was so dirty and the guy on reception finished my sentence like it was a common complaint but said all the lifeguards are young and cant be bothered with the cleaning. I dont think this is an excuse as the lifeguards at oasis are young but its spotless. Get cleaners, train the lifeguards i dont know but do something or this place should be shut down. On the up side the kids had a good time on the slides and splash areas.

Very disappointed with my experience, we tried to book online the day before but the website was down. The following morning we booked online the money was taken from my account (£56) BUT we did not receive any confirmation. We then called the leisure centre (5 times) to get through to the management team and told them the situation who then said "turn up and we can let you in if you have proof of purchase". We turned up and explained it to the receptionist who was very unsympathetic to our situation she just said "were not letting you in as there is no more spaces" although there were lots of spaces as we could see. We're not angry just severely dissatisfied and disappointed. You have ruined the end of our family holiday. ps please get a better website it was awful.

Are the floatation aids available for children's use or do you need to bring your own?

I've not been lately but they always had a pile of floats and those long things you wrap round that looks like pipe lagging that people can use.
