I had been following the Newquay Activity Centre on Instagram for a while and as soon as we booked our Newquay holiday I also pre-booked the activity. We did the Coasteering and Snorkel experience and had Freddie and Jacob as our instructors. Right from the start, they were engaging and friendly. They made us feel comfortable, safe, and easily adapted to different requirements as my dad struggled with some of the jumps and my sister needed a bit more patience and cheering on to go for it. Our first time doing coasteering and it exceeded expectations. Terrifying but I definitely want to do it again! If we had more time, I would have booked to try more of their activities.

Thanks to James our brilliant tour guide today we found some magical caves, learnt a whole lot about a little piece of our coastline in Cornwall and had the most fun! I am sure this will be another sport to add to my partners collection. You don’t have to go far to learn about the sea creatures and old Cornish smugglers! Gorgeous coastline, 100% worth doing. Thank you James for teaching us how to kayak and showing us spots we would never ever see unless being toured- and I say that honestly as a local it is so worth it. Also anyone who thinks the Cornish are flakey ought to know better after learning what we did today haha! 🏴‍☠️

Thank you very much for a great day Harry! We all had a great time paddleboarding for the first time. Really enjoyed exploring the cave + seeing the seal. You really went above and beyond by pulling my wife's board when she was struggling!

On my 14th birthday, (28/6), I discovered Coasteering, at the Newquay Activity Centre in Cornwall. Our Instructor was Steph, and she gave us clear instructions and positively interacted with us. We had an exhilarating three hour session, which I will now explain We first learnt about Coasteering, which is a combination of the word ‘orienteering’ that happens around the ‘coast’. Coasteering is a way of getting from point A to point B across difficult coastal terrain that a vehicle cannot manage. We learnt how to get out of and into the water even jumping off a twenty foot cliff! The high jumping method had me doing the highest jump I have ever done into water yet not with the most impact. The equipment was all provided for us: wetsuits, necessary to protect us from the cold water; old trainers to protect us from the sharp rocks, which they provided for us; life jackets, for buoyancy rather than emergency; and helmets to protect us from accidentally losing balance and falling on a rock. The three hour session was split up into getting equipped, walking to the coastline, briefing, warming up, properly Coasteering, walking back to the center, and final showering, changing and rejuvenating. We were happily exhausted. It was amazingly fun to learn a new skill in the natural terrain of the coast. I love being able to brag that I jumped off a twenty foot cliff for my birthday present. I recommend this for an adventurous soul who wants to explore the Cornish coastline, or any other place bordering the sea. It is a unique way of navigating the coastline.
