About
The Surf Club Cornwall is a leading provider of surf lessons in Cornwall. For 2020 we are facilitating surf lessons for Married To The Sea surf shop in Mawgan Porth near Newquay. The Surf Club Cornwall was founded in 2006 by Nick Tiscoe, who has expertise in private surf lessons. He is a current UK Pro Tour surfer and expert ISA Level 2 Instructor. Our qualified instructors will help you feel confident riding the waves, with as much fun as possible! We offer two main lesson slots per day at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Ages 6 to 100+ and all abilities welcome!

Had the most fantastic surfing lesson with Nick! As a group we'd had a lesson once before however we all had significant improvement with Nick's expert advice. Would highly recommend.

We had an excellent surfing lesson. All our group had a lot of fun and Nick was excellent at adapting the lesson to each individual.

Had two great 1-2-1 lessons with Nick. He took my step by step through the learning process to be able to get surfing standing up. Very enjoyable and rewarding, and felt safe throughout

I went to Nick with the sole purpose of learning how to surf - I had 3 x 2 hour sessions with him over three days. He was absolutely superb - patient, rounded and full of love for the sport and the sea. He taught me more than I could have imagined in a relatively short space of time. Highly highly recommended!

My husband had his lesson while we were on holiday 2 weeks ago and I was able to join him. Pete explained things really well, answered all of our questions and added in interesting info about safety, surfing and beaches in general. He was able to guide us both even though we are at different levels, so made it a brilliant afternoon for the both of us! Good boards and good fun.

Nick is an incredible instructor - myself and a friend (both 23 y/o, female, beginner surfers) had 3 lessons with him. We learnt a lot in each lesson; Nick is able to teach technique in a very detailed and precise way and we learnt a lot about surfing with better technique. We've had a few surf lessons in the past and found that Nick was exceptionally thoughtful when it came to teaching technique in a more in-depth way! He's also a Brazilian jiu jitsu instructor and we learnt a bit about that too which was great. We learnt a lot and improved more in 3 lessons than we have in 3 years. We also had loads of fun and felt very safe/comfortable in every lesson - he's an overall lovely, kind, funny, thoughtful, interesting, and nice person. Good vibes and lots of progression. Nick is able to teach beginners and more advanced surfers, as well as special needs surfers, incredibly well with a genuine commitment to their surfing development in a kind, friendly, and professional manner. We will be practicing the workouts we learnt in our sessions at home and look forward to surfing with you again next time. Thank you Nick!

My partner bought her and myself a private surf lesson for my birthday, and I was thoroughly impressed by it all. Unfortunately we couldn't use changing facilities but I think that is down to a certain virus, however that is by no means a reason to degrade the rating, especially as all the staff there seemed like great people. We had Pete as our instructor, and he was very thorough with his explanation, and was willing to help in the water where I was (clearly) struggling. My partner managed to stand up on the board on her first ever surfing lesson (I couldn't still by the end of the session), which I think is a credit to Pete's demeanour and capabilities in both teaching and surfing. He also did a rail grab so gets extra style points.

If anyone wants an intermediate - advanced lesson I HIGHLY recommend Nick. Spent 2 days with him, we did video analysis, gave lots of technical advice in all areas of surfing, talked about getting over fear in a very gentle and safe way, his feedback always makes you feel great and wanting to improve. All round awesome guy! I havnt had a lesson in years but this gave me all the new skills I need and to also get me out of bad habits that I have picked up. Thanks for an awesome time...!! 🌊🌟🙌
