And how could one not? The breathtaking beauty that is Cornwall changes one forever. You’re delivered into a landscape of sweeping vistas, steep valleys and granite tors, spectacular cliffs, rugged and dramatic coastline, glistening turquoise seas, narrow country roads lined with stone walls, wild moorland, picturesque harbor villages, historic stone monuments, ancient ruins and sacred sites—a land that the Cornish people rightly take great pride in, one with a rich cultural heritage.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been possible without our guide, Steve (Tour Cornwall), who made our all too brief two-day visit to West and North Cornwall so memorable. To guide is to show the way—to see and to know. Steve is exceptional at this. With his captivating storytelling, humor and impressive knowledge of Cornwall’s history, geography and culture, this Cornwall native was the consummate host and professional who had us enthralled in the sharing of this Eden.

Thank you for everything, Steve. It was an outstanding tour.

We hired Tour Cornwall to see the sites but also to search for family history since we have tin mining ancestors from the area. Though we’re experienced rental car travelers and drove ourselves the length of the UK on this trip, we’d heard Cornwall could be especially tricky and didn’t want to waste time getting lost and finding parking spots. But we didn’t know until we got started just how ridiculous it would’ve been for us to try to make our way around Cornwall on our own. Tim was masterful driving the tiny Cornish roads and knows everyone–people seem happy to see him. He has a boundless knowledge of the area’s history and made it fun and easy to see the stunning landscapes, natural beauty and charming villages–most of which we’d have missed on our own. Tim indulged us on a wild goose chase to look for a family-related mining site, and he couldn’t have been sweeter as we trudged through the mud to find it, which we did! We’re honored to have spent several days with this intelligent, interesting, funny guy as he shared his obvious love for Cornwall and inspired us to love it too.

My wife, sister and I visited Cornwall for the first time in September. Our travel agent set us up with two full day tours with Tour Cornwall. One was the Doc Martin Tour and the other was the Poldark Tour. These tours had good focus on the TV show sites, but they also covered much, much more of the incredible Cornwall seascapes, towns, villages, stories, humor and history. We were treated to two of the most amazing guides and fun people we have had the pleasure of knowing. Tim Uff (our Poldark guide) and Steve (our Doc Martin guide) are outstanding, and we would not trade those two days of touring with them for anything. We commend to you all the other recent Tripadvisor reviews -- they provide a great picture of this tour company and these two wonderful, fun, learned professional guides.

Both Tim and Steve are excellent drivers on the narrow twisting roads of Cornwall. (I was so happy to not be driving!) Both are limitless sources of history and stories about Cornwall generally and all the places we visited, as well as the TV series. Steve is a lifelong Cornwall native with a dry, keen wit who has done an array of things that contribute to his amazing guide abilities. These include much research and an intense interest in Stonehenge and other archeological sites like Tintagle Castle and its Arthurian legend. Steve is pure Cornish. He joined us for lunch in Port Isaac at the table in the restaurant where, in the TV show, the medical board sat and considered removing Doc Martin from his GP practice. And we had many other great stops in North Cornwall, like legendary Tintagle Castle, the mysterious Delabole, and some excellent Cornish ice cream along the River Valency in Boscastle.

Tim is the consummate professional, who has been interviewed and recommended by Rick Steves (among others). He guided us through a stunning array of spectacular coastal sites, some from Poldark and some not. Church Cove, Kynance Cove, coffee (and seals!) at a café on scenic Lizard Point, and the famous Lands End, to mention a few spots. A tasty quick pasty lunch from Tim’s favorite (Annes Pasty), then a continued tour of Penwith Peninsula, including St Michaels Mount, Penzance, Newlyn, and the curiously wonderful Mousehole (with a visit to the little Ark craft store). Then Penberth Cove, Porthcurno beach near Minack Theater, Porthgwarra (famous Poldark scene), and ending with an in-depth visit to the coastal tin and copper mines in the Arsenic Labyrinth area.

Throughout the two days, both Tim (day 2) and Steve (day 1) mixed just the right amount of well-founded history of these ancient lands with interesting tv show filming stories and wonderful personal anecdotes. We had a blast!
We can’t recommend them highly enough!

(One other thing to note – In the past, I watched Doc Martin and Poldark only sporadically, while my wife watched every episode of both. Now, after these two amazing tours, I am watching every episode of each myself!)

My husband and I had two great day tours with Tour Cornwall around north and south Cornwall. Tim was very responsive and accessible during the booking process. Duncan was our tour guide and he was excellent- he grew up in Cornwall, so is knowledgeable about all things Cornwall - history, culture, etc. and took us to places we never would have found on our own. He is an excellent driver, very professional and personable. Duncan really made the tour fun and enjoyable - and we learned a lot about Cornwall, which is a beautiful part of the world with a rich history. We were very happy we signed up for the tour - it was the highlight of our trip to Cornwall- and I highly recommend it!

Although my husband and I had travelled to England several times we had never been to Cornwall until this trip. We chose to stay in Port Isaac but wanted to see the highlights of the Penwith Peninsula. Since this would necessitate a drive of at least 90 minutes each way, we looked for a tour company that might be doing a day trip, and sure enough, Tour Cornwall offered exactly what we were looking for on their Penzance to St. Ives Day Tour. They were even recommended by our travel guru, Rick Steves! Tim Huff was our driver and guide for the day and he picked us up right at our doorstep in Port Isaac at 9 a.m. We had an outstanding day with him: the weather cooperated with sun following some rainy, windy days, and thanks to Tim's excellent driving and his knowledge of the area we managed to see all the sights that we wanted to visit, and still be back at our rental by just after 5. Tim shared details of the area we were passing through as we went, and suggested what to look for and where to walk on the stops we made. One highlight was a tour of the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, but we also enjoyed our stops in tiny Mousehole, and picturesque Lamorna Cove. We highly recommend Tour Cornwall. They offer a quality tour, with flexibility possible, and excellent value.

We spent a total of four days seeing some absolutely amazing sights all over Cornwall. Our tour guide, was Tim, and he was fantastic! We wanted a view of Cornwall that included historic sights, some locations where Poldark was filmed and some places where only locals would visit.

Tim shared an amazing number of places that included all of our requests and more! My wife and I love history and we so enjoyed the knowledge and history Tim shared with us, but he also shared stories of local experiences and where he and his family enjoyed visiting.

He also shared stories about what it was like to grow up and live in Cornwall, which was a special experience for us. Tim was an exceptional tour guide, and person, we concluded our tours feeling like we had a better understanding of the history of Cornwall and a new friend.

If you are visiting Cornwall, we are convinced that Tour Cornwall is the best choice to see and learn about the local area. Thank ou Tim for a magical four days in Cornwall. With gratitude, Stephen & Brenda

Tim Uff was our driver and tour guide. He was excellent. He wowed us with his knowledge of Cornwall, his agile driving ability and his friendly, professional manner. He was always on time to pick us up and accommodated a personal request to explore a location where my ancestors lived centuries ago.
Thank you, Tim. You made our days with you a memory maker.

It is a pleasure to write a review of Tour Cornwall.

I contacted Tim who suggested a one-week itinerary including pick up and drop off in the Bristol area. Communications with Tim were quick and easy.

Once we saw the narrow Cornish roads and the high hedges with walls a few thousand years old in the middle, we were so glad to leave the driving to the experts—especially on the left-hand side of the road! Tim suggested we base ourselves in Newquay for four days and St. Ives for two nights and gave us the name of some suggested hotels. We opted for Air B n Bs instead and this was fine too. While Newquay made sense as a base for visiting northern Cornwall, we weren’t enamored with it and if we had to do this trip again, we would opt to be based in Falmouth instead of Newquay –even if this means a bit longer driving on some days.

A few days before our tour started Tim advised that he had subcontracted Steve to guide us. Steve proved to be an extraordinary guide and human being. He is a voracious reader and has an encyclopedic knowledge of Cornish history. As a Cornish native Steve is also very proud of his culture and imparts his enthusiasm to his visitors. Steve has worked as a fisherman, bus driver, and salesman; runs a cheese business that takes him all over England; has learned to sail on tall ships; is a lifeboat volunteer; has been a Stonehenge archaeological dig volunteer and singer of Cornish ballads. He therefore brings a unique life perspective to his guiding and has interesting firsthand insights to share. Whether your interest is in books written in Cornwall or films or TV series set in Cornwall; tin, copper, or China clay mining; shipwrecks and smuggling or visiting some of Cornwall’s beautiful gardens and scenic walks, Steve will make sure to give you a thorough and unique visit.

Steve is a fantastic driver and very punctual and reliable.

We were a family of two adults and a 14-year-old teen and Steve was very good about adapting our itinerary to our interests and suggesting lunch spots that we liked.

We are just back from our Cornwall trip and looking at our photos and marvel at the variety and beauty of what Steve showed us. We miss him already after spending an incredible week with him.

We can highly recommend Steve and Tour Cornwall.

My husband and I and 2 couples did a 5 hr Tour with Barry. Barry was prompt and funny and had a great personality.
Born and raised in Cornwell Barry knew much history about that Area. He had Many Pirate stories and had been very involved with the Poldark TV series. We did the St Ives and Penzance tour. I would difinently recommend this tour co. When I call I talked to Tim and he helped me when other tour companies couldn't. He went far beyond to help me.

We booked a tour of Poldark film locations of Cornwall for my mother-in-laws birthday booking a full day tour. I can’t begin to tell you how much joy and pleasure this gift brought! From the point of booking Tim made our arrangements very easy and seamless and our tour guide Duncan Savage was nothing short of excellent! This tour was the best way to see Cornwall by far and my mother-in-law who is a Poldark super fan was blown away by the knowledge and professionalism that Duncan showed. This really was a high point of our holiday creating memories that will last a lifetime. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour to anybody! Thank you so much for a wonderful day guys! You exceeded our expectations!
