Watergate bay is gorgeous: miles of sandy beach, unspolied by the tourist commerce that can blight other parts of Cornwall. Plus similarly miles of cliff-top walks. Gorgeous.

The day we were there was blustery - with the waves pounding onto the beach, but can well imagine a warm summers day walking leisurely for miles along this beautiful sandy beach. Would be great for children too with plenty of sand for sandcastles and rock pools... More

Other facilities include a car park, surf school, take away kiosk and a nice cafe for lunches etc.. Users should be aware that... More

Whilst Fistral is our favourite, Watergate Bay is an amazing, large sandy beach with good facilities.

We always visit during winter, when the beach is empty apart from dog walkers or runners. The views are stunning, the beach clean. We take waterproofs and visit come rain or shine. The beach hut cafe is always open and has a mouthwatering menu to warm you up. There is something incredibly breathtaking and mesmerising about the place in the... More
