About
A 5 mile walk around Newquay's fascinating shoreline on the South West Coast Path, taking in the long sandy beaches with their Atlantic breakers which make it one of Britain's surf capitals, as well as its rocky headlands with their spectacular views out over Newquay Bay. People have lived here since prehistoric times, and there are some fascinating historical features en route.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome views with raging seas behind, rainbows abounding and sunshine glinting, this is quite some place for a brisk post-lunch walk. With clear-ish skies we could see quite a aw both up and down the coast, all stunning

Fantastic walk to the headland December 2021. Fabulous views. We totally love Cornwall, it’s so beautiful. Take a hat, it can get mighty windy

When we stay in Newquay we always spend one day just walking along the coast. We started from the lovely Pentire Hotel and paddled along Fistral beach and around the Headland. We then paddled and swam on the town beaches before eating sandwiches on the beach at Lusty Glaze then a drink at the Mermaid at Porth beach before strolling back again. A great way to spend a sunny day.

A wonderful, scenic walk. A fabulous way to spend a few hours on a warm, breezy day.
You will see amazing nature along the walk and if like me you love taking photos this is well worth it.

I’ve done several small sections of the oath. It’s well signposted, dramatic scenery is on offer everywhere. This is one of the best walks I’ve done. I’ll be back to do more.

We took a walk along Towan beach from Newquay as the tide was out, we walked as far as Tolcarne beach and back then up and around the harbour. Continuing up to the headland and round, passing little Fistral beach before sitting above Fistral beach watching the surfers. It was a great day considering the weather was very misty and a bit chilly. Nice to see another side of Newquay!

The coast path offers stunning scenery and very rewarding well being. It is very rugged in places but Newqay has much to offer. Well worth a visit to explore
