Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Steve took me on a private guided morning hike along the South West Coast Path - he is a fount of knowledge in regard to the History and Natural Environment of Cornwall. He is also a very kind and personable guide who devised a bespoke tour package for me. He walked at my pace and ensured that I had an unforgettable experience and enjoyed amazing views of the coast. I saw Atlantic Grey Seals and Red Billed/Cornish Choughs which are very rare. I highly recommend him and hope to enjoy a further tour with him in the future. Thank you Steve.

I have just spent two really enjoyable days walking on the beautiful Cornish coast with Steve. This was so much more than just a walk; Steve made it really interesting with his knowledge of all of the local flora and fauna and also the history of the area. Highly recommend and will definitely do it again.

Collected from the hotel and then taken to a selection of quoits, standing stones and stone circles, including Men-An Tol. We had already discussed what we especially wanted to see and Steve (our guide) was able to fit it all in, despite some very heavy rain.
Steve explained the history of the sites, how they had been created (the geology and man-made aspects) and named the fauna we passed on the way. I rather liked his imitation of the Rock Chuffs using a handful of tiny pebbles.
Really enjoyable and made the most of our time. Some of these monuments are smaller than they appear in photo's and could be easily missed as they are behind hedges or obscured by foliage. Having a guide made a huge difference.
We will not hesitate to book another tour when we return to Cornwall. Steve did not mention that he was a Millenium Scholar until our return to the hotel, but his teaching experience really stood out.

In Sept 2013, we completed 2 1/2 days of tours with Cornish Welcome Tours. They were outstanding during the planning process and equally outstanding in the actual tours. We saw all majors points of interest that we wanted to see. Sarah, our guide, was wonderful. She lives in and knows Cornwall extremely well. The 2 1/2 days we spent with her were relaxing and just plain fun. She would sense that there might be a sight that would interest us and she altered her route to take us there. I would highly recommend this service. There contact info is enquiries@cornishwelcome tours.com

We took a guided walk along the Lizard peninsula with Steve. The gorse was in bloom and he showed us how the plant pollinates, quite interesting. The walk was informative. Steve is quite knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. The peninsula was in bloom and just lovely. Ask Steve about the ephemeral Mediterranean pools:)

This was the best 3 hours of our visit to Cornwall. There is nothing to beat having an expert guide who knows both the history and natural history, can show you all those special local places and is current on changes to the natural environment. Steve picked us up from our B&B and took us for a great walk along the cliffs. If I had to do it again, I'd book a whole day. Thank you Steve!

We hired Steve to guide our photography workshop to scenic areas in Cornwall. We told him what we had in mind to shoot, and over the course of four days he took us to the perfect locations to get those shots. We were constantly asking questions about the flora, fauna, and geography, and we never once stumped him, he is so knowledgeable, even doing bird calls to get a shy Robin to come out and pose and sing for us. Without exception, all the participants said our time with Steve was one of the best parts of the workshop, I highly recommend him.

Walking with Steve is a real 'eye opener'!
With every step there is something of interest to see and learn. From the tiniest spider's web , the smallest flower, the faintest call of a hidden bird, to the mighty rocky outcrops, mining heritage and hidden bronze age archaelogical remains....there is something for everyone and with his relaxed and informative style, a tour with Steve should be on everyone's 'must do' list when in Cornwall.
Thank you Steve for helping us to enjoy this wonderful region of Great Britain.

We've booked Steve for a private half-day tour. We had given him some information about us (a familiy of four) and let him free choice where to go.
It was a great and unforgetable experience, we got information about wildlife, history and he all the small "adventures" along our way.
Steve found interesting things for all of us - it was one of the best experience within our holiday and I only regret that I didn't book a whole day walk.
I highly recommend his tours! Thanks a lot!

How would one go about registering for a tour with Explore in Cornwall? Do they have a website?
Written 30 April 2018
hi I plan to be Penzance last week of June 2018 and would like to see the imac theatre, dartmoor and best attractions. Would you have anything like his on offer at this time?
Look forward to your reply.

Hi, We do have some availability depending on the actual days you'd like - to look at things in West Cornwall and Dartmoor would require more than one day as Dartmoor is some distance away.
it would be easier for us to communicate if you email us via the address on the explore in cornwall website, if you send me an email with your dates we can explore the options with you.
Thanks
Steve
