Collected from the hotel and then taken to a selection of quoits, standing stones and stone circles, including Men-An Tol. We had already discussed what we especially wanted to see and Steve (our guide) was able to fit it all in, despite some very heavy rain. Steve explained the history of the sites, how they had been created (the geology... More

This was the best 3 hours of our visit to Cornwall. There is nothing to beat having an expert guide who knows both the history and natural history, can show you all those special local places and is current on changes to the natural environment. Steve picked us up from our B&B and took us for a great walk along... More

We took a guided walk along the Lizard peninsula with Steve. The gorse was in bloom and he showed us how the plant pollinates, quite interesting. The walk was informative. Steve is quite knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. The peninsula was in bloom and just lovely. Ask Steve about the ephemeral Mediterranean pools:)

Our walk on the South West Coast Path with Steve was an absolutely fantastic experience. When meeting Steve you'll instantly find that he is a seasoned outdoorsman with vast experience and knowledge about the flora and fauna in the area. He is well-organized with all of the necessary gear and we moved at a steady, yet enjoyable pace. In addition... More

Walking with Steve is a real 'eye opener'! With every step there is something of interest to see and learn. From the tiniest spider's web , the smallest flower, the faintest call of a hidden bird, to the mighty rocky outcrops, mining heritage and hidden bronze age archaelogical remains....there is something for everyone and with his relaxed and informative style,... We've booked Steve for a private half-day tour. We had given him some information about us (a familiy of four) and let him free choice where to go. It was a great and unforgetable experience, we got information about wildlife, history and he all the small "adventures" along our way. Steve found interesting things for all of us - it... More

Wow! I can't speak highly enough of Steve's guided walks in south west Cornwall. I had a fantastic three half-days exploring the coastal paths and moorland, watching the birds (peregrines! kestrels! buzzards!) through high powered binoculars and learning about the ecology and the human history of that stunning part of Cornwall. Being a New Zealander, it was rather weird seeing... More

We booked Steve for a day's guided walking near Lands End. He is a fantastic font of information on local ecology, botany, geology, mining and wildlife. We finished the day relaxed and better informed. The hotel pick up reduced the hassle and with all the usual stress of planning a walk, map-reading etc was all delegated to Steve - the... More

Hi DocRunner and thank you for your generous review - a good day indeed "soaking" up the Cornish cliffs - I hope the Mountain Marathon goes well and Matt keeps you on the straight and narrow - hope to see you in the Duchy again for some more walking adventures in the future. Thanks More
