Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent a wonderful 90 minutes with Mike who had been an extra on Doc Martin for all 9 seasons. He was a pleasure, informative not only about the show, the set, the actors and behind the scenes skuttlebut, but knowledgeable about the history of Port Issac too. We were American doing an 800 mile trip through the Southwest and Cornwall and this, along with our two night stay at the Schoolhouse, was a highlight of the trip……highly recommended…and ask for Mike!

You can't come to Cornwall and not visit Portwenn/ Port Isaac especially if you are a Doc Martin fan.
There are only 2 car parks and they fill up very quickly so I suggest you visit early in the day or leave it till much later. We arrived just before lunchtime and were very lucky to get a spot in the main car park. The walk down to the harbour is a bit of a trek.
The fishing village is lovely with quaint little cottages most of which though are holiday lets. The main locations in the TV series are easy to spot and are only a stones throw away from each other.
A delight to visit, just a shame it is so busy.

This was an excellent guided tour around the town. It focuses on the Doc Martin locations with the guide noting he had been an extra in several scenes - he has as we have been rewatching the series since returning home! The town is very pretty (and crowded) though there was plenty of space in the car park top of town, a short walk from the village centre. We started with an excellent pasty which fortified us for the hills that were to come. You do need to be fairly fit for this walk as it is up and down hill but this is Cornwall so that is to be expected. It would have been nice to hear more about the village's history but that could have made the tour too long.

Great walking tour with Dave who was a knowledgeable chap.
Lots of steep hills to walk up so please bear in mind - can be tiring on the legs !
Disappointed to note that £10 on the day and £15 to pre-book !!

Beautiful fishing village. The carpark is on the edge of the village which is a lovely walk down but very steep coming back! The village is small with narrow streets and lovely independent shops. Don't think that this is only worth visiting if you watch Doc Martin as I have never seen it but could still enjoy the beauty and quaintness of the area.

A great insight into Doc Martin filming. Mike Meakins presents in a knowledgeable and humorous manner.

However, it was irritating to see the same tour advertised in Port Isaac for £10.00 (£5.00 less than if booking through Tripadvisor). Also the social distancing was very suspect at times. The group size needs to be reduced or those attending should be asked to wear masks.

That said, the tour is well worth doing and I would recommend it:

This was a superb way to learn about some of the history of Port Isaac , have a good tour of the village and as a Doc Martin fan visit many of the locations used in the series.

Mike Meakins was our guide he was charming , funny and very knowledgable .

Mike was a supporting actor in many of the Doc Martin episodes.

We booked our tour in Port Isaac at Nuts and more where the tour starts from. (10.00 psd ).

An hour and 15 mins well spent and we would recommend Mike and this tour to anyone visiting Port Isaac.

Well I can’t review the tour having paid £15 per person for a guided tour . We did not make it due to the parking meter problems.
We were too late to take the tour.
However I was disgusted to find it was only £10 to book on the day. Come on trip advisor this is just not on.

An excellent narrative by a man who knows. Dave told us all sorts of amusing and interesting facts as we wandered around this beautiful village. Well worth the money. Get out and do,it
